Ifinstalled incorrectly it may present a safety hazard. TheACS250/ACS255 uses high voltages and currents, carries a high levelof stored electrical energy, and is used to control mechanical plant thatmay cause injury. Close attention is required to system design andelectrical installation to avoid hazards in either normal operation or inthe event of equipment malfunction.System design, installation, commissioning and maintenance must becarried out only by personnel who have the necessary training andexperience. They must read carefully this safety information and theinstructions in this Guide and follow all information regarding transport,storage, installation and use of the Option module, including thespecified environmental limitations.Please read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION below, and allWarning and Caution boxes elsewhere.CAUTION• Store the Option in its box untilrequired. It should be stored in aclean and dry environment.Temperature range –40oC to+60oC.• Install the Option by inserting therow of 11 pins into the terminalconnector of the ACS250/ACS255ensuring that the terminals aretightened.• If the Option is being used withSize E1, care should be taken tosupport the Option when theterminal screws of the Option arebeing tightened or loosened.WARNING• The ACS250/ACS255 and theOptions should be installed onlyby qualified electrical persons andin accordance with local andnational regulations and codes ofpractice.• Electric shock hazard!Disconnect and ISOLATE thedrive before attempting any workon it.
