Emergency light fittings are designedto be discharge tested once every 6 months asper AS/NZS 2293.2, subjecting the product torepeated discharge or charge cycles is regardedas an abuse of the fittings.Troubleshooting guideIf you have installed and connected the fitting as per the instructions listed earlier and it doesnot function correctly, use the following table as a guide to fixing the problem. Look up thetype of fault in the left column and check the possible causes from the right column. If the fitting still does not work after checking these possible causes, contact ABB customerservice in Australia on 1800 60 20 20.Testing precautionsOnce the fitting is permanently connected to themains supply, a commissioning discharge test asrequired in AS/NZS 2293.2 must be carried out.You will need to allow 24 hours for the battery tofully charge prior to conducting this test, presently (at the time of writing), the standardrequires that fittings operate in emergency modefor a period not less than 2 hours for theircommissioning test and for not less than 90minutes thereafter (it is required that 6 monthlydischarge tests be carried out). You will need tokeep the records for the commissioning test andenter them into the building emergency serviceslogbook or via other recording methods asallowed by AS/NZS 2293.2.No. Fault Possible causes1 LED light source and indicating LED not lit AC supply not connected; orAC supply turned off; orTest switch damaged2 LED light source is lit but indicating LED not lit Test switch damaged; orBattery not connected or faulty3 LED light source does not switch to emergencymode when the test button is pressedTest switch damaged; orBattery not connected or faulty4 LED light source works momentarily on emergencywhen the test button is pressedBattery not yet charged (allow up to 24 hours)1. When the fitting is reconnected to the supply,it will need time to recharge its battery beforeit will be capable of a full length dischargeagain. The ability of the fitting to operate onemergency is determined by the age, chargelevel, operating temperature conditions andenvironmental circumstances of the battery inthe fitting.9AKK106713A9570 - D - July 2020—I N S TA L L AT I O N M A N U A LStanilite®Exit LED Quickfit®_V2Emergency, Nexus® LX, Nexus RF |
