Use this unit in the manner intended by the manufac-turer. If you have questions, contact the manufacturer.2. Before installation, servicing or cleaning unit, switchpower off at the service panel and lock the service discon-necting means to prevent power from being switched onaccidentally. When the service disconnecting meanscannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warningdevice, such as a tag, to the service panel.3. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done byby qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicablecodes including fire rated construction.4. Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and ex-hausting of gasses through the flue (chimney) or fuelburning equipment to prevent back drafting. Follow theheating equipment manufacturers guideline and safetystandards such as those published by the National FireProtection Association (NFPA), and the American Society forHeating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers(ASHRAE), and the local code authorities5. When cutting or drilling into wall and ceiling, do notdamage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.6. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.7. To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.8. This fan should only be used with the fan speed controlprovided by ABBAKA for this model. The ventilator must beinstalled such that the exhaust discharge is 12” minimum fromthe ground level. However there may be some local codes thatdo not permit this type of installation. Heavy snowfall mayprevent the damper from opening due to snow blockage. In-staller should check local codes for outdoor wall installation.Caution: For general ventilation use only. Do not use toexhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.Installation Tips1. For lowest noise operation, place 1 elbow between the rangehood and the ventilator. Install an optional ABBAKA AccousticalDuct Silencer.2. Select an installation location that is free of obstacles such asheating and air conditioning ducts, stand pipes, electrical wiring,etc.3. Position discharge of the ventilator downward and away fromprevailing winds to minimize backdrafts.4. For best appearance, locate the fan on the rear of the house,below the top of roof line. |
