USER MANUALThis equipment should be inspected fordamage or loss of components before use anda further inspection should then be carried outby a competent person or the manufacturer atregular intervals.When using this equipment as a fall arrestanchor adequate clearance distance should beensured for the user to fall into. The followingcalculation is a guide: User height + Extensionof lanyard / fall arrest brake distance + safetymargin = 2m + 1.75m + 1m = 4.75mWhen lifting do not move load outside thefootprint of the Tripod as this will causeinstability .Any person or load on the tripod should not bemoved outside off the footprint of the tripod asthis will cause instability.The tripod height can be adjusted. Each legshould be adjusted to ensure that the tripod islevel.When applying a static load to the tripod withinthe specified WLL the tripod should not deflect.This is personal fall protection equipment andnot for equipment lifting.Anchor points - When used in a fall arrestsystem the anchor point should be above theuser. This anchor point conforms to EN795.Only use an approved connector to the anchorpoint.Chemical attack – This equipment should bekept away from acids, alkalise, chemicals, andanything which may cause damage to it.Storage and Transport – This equipmentshould be transported and stored in a dry coolplace.Inspection - This equipment must be inspectedat regular intervals by a competent personauthorised by the manufacturer. The frequencyof the inspection is dependent on the type ofusage and any prevailing conditions.We recommend the next inspection date ismarked on the tripod via a label or tag.Obsolescence – The prescribed obsolescencefor this equipment is 10 years. It may beserviced and repaired. Parts may be changed.The tripod will be withdrawn from use if it isdamaged or worn parts cannot be replaced.Provided the equipment is inspected andmaintained in accordance with manufacturersrecommendations the maximum lifespan of theequipment should be 10 years. However this isdependant on conditions of work andfrequency of use.Cleaning – Wipe with a damp cloth. Removedust and grit with detergent. Movingcomponents such as pulley should be kept freefrom dirt and dust.Before UseThe user should make a visual inspection ofthe equipment. Look for damage to theequipment such as cracks, bent or deformedmetal. Ensure all labels are in place and arecorrect. Check all components are present andfunctional. Check the correct operation of anymoving parts.If there is any doubt as to the condition of theequipment it must be removed from service. Afurther inspection should then be carried out bya competent person or the manufacturer.When using this equipment for access and oregress a rescue plan should be in operation.WarningNo repairs, alterations or additions should bemade to this equipment without consultationwith the manufacturer.The equipment should not be used outside itslimitations, or for any purpose for which it is notintended.If equipment is to be used as part of a systemconsult with the manufacturer.Only full body harnesses with a testedattachment point should be used as part of afall arrest system.T3 TRIPODCONFORMS TO:BS EN795:2012 TYPE BPRODUCT CODE: T3All users should read and understand theseinstructions.All users should be suitably trained to use thisequipment. No person should use thisequipment unless they have been trained to doso. When used as part of a fall arrest system the tripod isfor one user only and the user will be equipped with means of limiting the maximum dynamicarrest force to 6kN. The Working Load Limit for this equipment is 250 Kilos (8:1 ratio). Any loadshould not be extended beyond the tripod foot print. The Tripod is the basis of a confinedspace entry and rescue system. The three overhead pulleys can all accommodate rope up to11mm diameter. The Tripod is to be used over access holes and is to be used as the anchorpoint for systems which enable access, egress and fall protection. All equipment used with theTripod must be approved to the relevant standard.InstructionsCarry out all adjustments to tripod before positioning over the access point.Erection: Firmly open the legs of the Tripod ensuring that the leg pins lock into position.To raise the height of the Tripod remove a leg clip, pull out the lower leg and push the leg clipthrough the leg location hole in both the upper and lower leg. Repeat on the remaining legs. Ifthe tripod is being used on an uneven surface the height of each leg may be adjusted tocompensate.The user must not approach the access point unless wearing a harness and safely anchored.The documentation issued with this Tripod (user manual and product record card) must beretained. The record card should have recorded upon it the inspection regime. |
