DSR-220 MANUAL SEALERPart No. 306210GENERAL SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS1. EYE INJURY HAZARD.Failure to wear safety glasses with side shieldscan result in severe eye injury or blindness.Always wear safety glasses with side shieldswhich conform to ANSI Standard Z87.1 or EN 166.2. FALL HAZARD.Maintaining improper footing and/or balancewhen operating the tool can cause you to fall. Donot use the tool when you are in an awkwardposition.3. CUT HAZARD.Handling strap or sharp parts could result in cuthands or fingers. Wear protective gloves.4. TRAINING.This tool must not be used by persons notproperly trained in its use. Be certain that youreceive proper training from your employer. Ifyou have any questions contact your AcmeRepresentative.5. TOOL CARE.Take good care of the tool. Inspect and clean itdaily, lubricate it weekly. Replace any worn orbroken parts.6. WORK AREA.Keep work areas uncluttered and well lighted.7. TENSIONING STRAP.When tensioning strap use proper tensioner forspecific strap sizes. Read the tensioner'soperation and safety manual.Several combinations of strap, seals and tools can beused with this sealer. Use the correct Acme productsfor your application. If you need help contact yourAcme Representative.SAFETY PROCEDURES FOR TOOLOPERATION1. Before using this sealer, read all the instructionsin this Operation, Parts and Safety Manual.2. Always lift and carry the tool by the tool handleknob. Lifting the tool at any other point mayexpose the hand to a "pinch point."3. Make sure the sealer jaws are placed directly onthe seal.4. While sealing, position yourself to one side of thetensioned strap.5. This tool is a double reverse notchsealer. A properly notched seal willappear as shown in the illustration.If the notched seal does not appearas shown, inspect the tool for wornand/or damaged parts. Replace tool parts asneeded. Do not ship any loads secured withimproperly notched seals. Seal must be properlynotched.CUTTING TENSIONED STRAPFLYING STRAP HAZARD. Using claw hammers,crowbars, chisels, axes or similar tools will causetensioned strap to fly apart with hazardous force.Use only cutters designed for cutting strap. Read theinstructions in the cutters manual for properprocedure in cutting strap. Before using any Acmeproduct read its operation and safety manual.SPECIFICATIONSFor use with 1-1/4" High Tensile steel strapping .025"to .035" thick.OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS1. Fully open the sealer handles and center theopen jaws on the seal. |
