Care and Maintenance of your ACS In-Ear MonitorsIt is important to read these notes to ensure longevityof your custom monitors. Cleaning them regularly andpaying close attention to their maintenance is vitalto ensure their continued performance. We offer fullcleaning and reconditioning services for your monitorsso please don’t hesitate to call if your monitors needattention.NEVER remove your monitors by pulling on the cable.Cleaning and StorageUse a moist cloth or sterile wipe to clean the silicone moulds and cables. Alwayshold your cables by the plug, rather than the earpiece, to clean. DO NOTimmerse any part of the monitors in any liquid. If they get wet, place them ina warm, dry atmosphere and use dehumidifier (silicate crystals) toremove any moisture. Be careful not to tangle the cables and alwaysstore your monitors in the case provided when not in use.Visually inspect the sound ports on each earpiece to checkthat no wax, skin debris or dirt has penetrated thetubes. Use the wire loop pick provided tocarefully remove any matter.NOTE : The most common cause of failureis due to ingression of ear wax into thesound tubes. This is easily prevented byregular checks and cleaning.Cable Types / Cable ManagementACS Monitors are fitted with different cable options. Thecable can exit over the top of the ear and roundthe back of the head (fig 5), or from the lowerpart of the ear like the cables fitted to mostconventional types of headphones andearphones(fig 6). If your cables exit at the topof the ear, the cable can be secured at theback of the head by moving the slider fitted tothe cable in an upward direction (fig 7).FittingYour monitors are handed, the right earpiece being identified with a red detail andthe left earpiece with a blue detail. From a comfort and acoustic perspective, it isimportant that they are fitted correctly to provide a good seal of the ear.Begin by placing the tip of the monitor intoyour ear canals whilst at the same time makingsure that the top part of the mould is locatedunder the flap at the top of the ear (fig 2). It issometimes easier to use both hands when fittingthe earpieces (fig 3).Gently press the mould until it feels located andsecure (fig 4). Use the comfort cream to help thefitting initially. Spread a small amount around theear canal tip, being careful to avoid the soundtubes.We want you to be delighted with your ACS hearingprotectors.
