Product Features■ Standards-based technologyfor industry-requiredinteroperability■ Spectral compatibility withADSL■ Improved operating margins inthe CSA■ DS1 payload over two copperpairs, with added coding gain, for reduced signalingbandwidth■ Extended range T1 deploymentfor areas just beyond the CSA,eliminating the need forrepeaters■ Industry-leading, 10-yearwarrantyCarriers provide T1 line deployments from avariety of access platforms. Ideally, serviceproviders look for a carrier class platformthat has multiservice capabilities includingdelivery of the latest HDSLx technology.ADTRAN® offers end-to-end HDSL4 cardsolutions with the Total Access® 3000Multiservice Platform. HDSL4 provides astandards-based repeatered T1 transporttechnology that remains spectrally compat-ible with ADSL per ANSI T1.418.ADTRAN’s Total Access 3000 is an intelli-gent carrier class multiservice access platformfor deploying Hi-Cap and DSL services. TotalAccess 3000 offers unprecedented flexibility, along with multiple service options andmanagement capabilities. Its real value in aTDM configuration is its ability to deliver T1lines out to various applications. Thiscompact, modular device is a single platformfor delivering manageable, profitable servicesnow and into the future. It supports HDSL,HDSL2, HDSL4, DSX-1, and POTS applica-tions in conjunction with IADs and othernetwork components.HDSL4 offers improved operating margins,a good price/performance value, and spec-tral-compatibility with ADSL in the samebinder group. It allows extended deploymentrange (without repeaters) beyond HDSL andHDSL2. Carriers can avoid replacement ofcostly repeaters in areas just beyond the CSA.In fact, HDSL4 is the only extended reach T1transport technology that is spectrallycompatible with ADSL (per ANSI T1.418)when deployed with repeaters.ADTRAN’s HDSL4 solutions includecentral office, repeater, and remote cards forlegacy form factors commonly found innetworks. The ADTRAN Total Access 3000 HDSL4Transceiver Unit for the central office(H4TU-C) is used to deploy an HDSL4 T1circuit using 4-wire metallic facilities. Theunit occupies one slot in a Total Access 3000shelf. The DS1 or DSX-1 input signal can besupplied from the network or a Total Access3000 Multiplexer (DS3, STS-1, or OC-3). TheHDSL4 signals are provided to the local loop. The Total Access 3000 H4TU-C works inconjunction with the ADTRAN H4TU-R andup to two H4R repeaters to provide a DS1service on the local loop.ADTRAN’s HDSL4 repeaters feature in-band loopback control, remote provisioning, and pass-through control. They are availablein standard T200 and 239 mechanics.ADTRAN’s HDSL4 units are equipped withtroubleshooting-at-a-glance LEDs thatprovide customers with a simple means ofidentifying the location of certain faults.Several new screens have been added to thecraft interface to simplify the trouble isolationprocess. These HDSL4 units are equipped tosupport the ADTRAN TScan TM feature. TScanallows the remote retrieval of circuit diagnos-tics and performs advanced fault location.
