Its high-speed,multi-core processing platform enablesdeep packet inspection without adverselyimpacting the performance of mission-criticalnetworks and applications.HardwareThis security appliance offers GigabitEthernet WAN and LAN interfaces, along withfour additional Gigabit interfaces that can beconfigured for redundant WAN links or foradditional LAN or DMZ networks.Reassembly-Free Deep Packet InspectionDue to its unique design, the RFDPI engineis not memory limited because it does not“proxy” traffic, which frees up resources forfast inspection of tens of thousands of simul-taneous data streams of unlimited size. Thisreal-time inspection method can analyzefiles and content going across any port in anydirection with extremely low latency, withoutreassembling packets or application contentwhile still blocking malware. This design leadsto efficient and reliable high performanceinspection and an improved user experience.Application Intelligence and ControlApplication Intelligence and Control offersgranular application-level access controls tomanage bandwidth and prevent leaks of sensitiveor proprietary information.Administrators can define policy-basedblocking or restrictions of specific applications,such as bandwidth-intensive streaming audio,video and peer-to-peer programs. This includesthe restriction of application specific file types(e.g., EXE, PIF, SRC, VBS). In addition, outboundtransmissions can also be blocked based onsensitive, proprietary or watermarked data.Virtual Private Networking (VPN)Advanced IPSec and SSL VPN connectivityoptions provide secure, high-speed office-to-office and individual remote user access.
