Quick StartD ESCRIPTIONThis guide includes the following products:The Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) 3.125 Bidirectional(BIDI) 10 km plugs into ADTRAN equipment designed to acceptSFPs. Installed into an appropriate host unit, the BIDI SFPprovides a 3.125G optical interface to the supporting system.g NOTEThe 1442821F1 and 1442821F2 must be deployed as pairs ateach end of the system. The 1442821F1 must be connected tothe 1442821F2 at the other end of the fiber.INSTALLATIONTo install the SFP into an appropriate module, complete thefollowing steps:1. Inspect the SFP. If damaged, file a claim with the carrier andthen contact ADTRAN Customer Service.2. Do not remove the protective end cap from the SFP until thefiber optic cable is ready to be connected.3. Insert the SFP into the SFP cage on the module. Ensure themanufacturer’s label on the SFP is facing upward for correctinstallation.4. Slide the SFP all the way into the receptacle until there is anaudible “click.”f CAUTION!Due to compliance certification requirements, use only SFPssupplied by ADTRAN.
