4.(AT-50CWLD only) Connect the suppliedAC adapter to the unit and to the wall out-let.Note: The answering machine must be setto answer after at least 2 rings to properlyreceive Caller ID data.RECEIVING CALLER ID CALLSThe AT50LD/CWLD will receive and storeup to 50 Caller ID calls in the memory. If 50calls are in the memory, any new callsreceived will be saved by replacing the old-est in the memory. When a call is receivedthe display will show the following:* Caller’s Name* Caller’s Number* Date and Time of Call* New Call Indicator* The number of newcalls in memory* The New Call indi-cator flashing.The red New Call LED will be flashing toindicate new calls are in memory.The LED will turn off after all new calls arereviewed.REVIEWING NEW CALLER ID CALLSIf the New Call LED is flashing pressingREVIEW 5 or 2 key to scroll through all newinformation (newest calls to oldest calls).After the last new call is reviewed, END OFNEW CALL is displayed and the New CallLED turns off.Note: If all new calls are not reviewed after20 seconds the display will show thenumber of new calls remaining in memory.The New Call LED will be flashing.REVIEWING OLD CALLER ID CALLSWhen the New Call LED is off, pressingREVIEW 5 key will scroll through all callrecords from oldest to newest. Pressing theREVIEW 2 key will scroll through all callsnewest to oldest. END OF LIST is displayedconnection.Note: ( AT- 5 0 C W L D o n l y ) You mustwait for at least 2 rings to get Caller ID data.A telephone does not need to be connectedin order for it to work, but is recommendedfor the callback feature and necessary forthe Caller ID on the Call Waiting feature.CONNECTING TO AN ANSWERINGMACHINE1.Connect the line cord from the wall jackinto the jack marked LINE on the Caller ID2.Connect the supplied 7-foot line cord fromthe jack marked PHONE on the unit to theIN jack on your answering machine.3.Connect a line cord from the answeringmachine to the line jack on your tele-phone.Note: When an area code digit is flashing,continue pressing the REVIEW 5 or REVIEW2 key until the correct digit appears. PressDELETE to set the digit.Note: After the language and area codesare set, should you require changing thempress and hold both REVIEW 5 and REVIEW2 keys for approximately 8 seconds. Theunit will default to setup mode.When a new call is received the real-timeclock will automatically be updated by thecurrent date and time received from the tele-phone company. It is not possible to manu-ally set the date and time.DESK AND WALL MOUNTING.Attach the pedestal to the bottom or back ofthe unit in the desired desk mount position(see illustration). For wall mounting, firstdetach the pedestal and mount the unitdirectly to the wall using two screws (not pro-vided)SETTING THE LANGUAGEYour caller ID unit can display messages inEnglish, French and Spanish. The defaultlanguage setting is English. After insertingthe batteries do the following:1.When English is displayed after insertingbatteries, select language EnglishFrench/Spanish using the REVIEW.5.key.Each press of the REVIEW 5 key willchange the displayed language.2.Press the DELETE not REVIEW 2 to setthe displayed language.SETTING THE LOCAL AREA CODE(AT- 5 0 C W L D o n l y )After selecting a language for the display,you’ll need to program your area code in tothe unit so it can properly recognize and dialcalls using he CALLBACK feature.If you are in an area that doesn’t allow 7digit dialing enter “010” for the area code.1.Press the REVIEW 5 or REVIEW 2 keyto select each digit.2.Press the “DELETE” key to set the number,not the REVIEW key.3. There will not be a beep comfirmationImportant: To receive information aboutincoming telephone calls, you must sub-scribe to the Caller ID and/or Call Waitingservices provided by your local telephonecompany; there is a fee for this service andit may not be available in all areas.BATTERY INSTALLATIONBefore operating your Caller ID install 4 alkalinebatteries in the AT50LD or 2 alkaline batteries inthe AT50CWLD in the battery compartmentlocated on the bottom of the unit. The screwmust be remooved to open the battery door.Using the illustration, observe battery polarity(+ or -) during installation.1.Turn the unit over.2.Remove the screw from the battery door andlift the battery door away from the base.3.Insert the batteries as shown.4.Replace the battery door and screw. (Besure to tigten the screw completely.)CONNECTING TO A TELEPHONE1.Connect the line cord from the wall jackinto the jack marked LINE on the Caller ID.2.Connect the supplied 7-foot line cord fromthe jack marked PHONE on the unit to theline jack on the telephone.3.(AT-50CWLD only) Connect the suppliedAC adapter to the unit and the wall outlet.4.Check for a dial tone to ensure properNote: The display will show the name ornumber from the calling party if available. Ifthe caller’s information is blocked the displaywill show PRIVATE CALL. If the call informa-tion is not available or outside the callingarea, the display will show OUT OF AREADELETING CALL RECORDSTo delete a call record, press the REVIEW5oor 2 key to locate the call record wishto delete. Press DELETE twice quickly and thecall record will be removed and the next callin memory will be displayed.DELETING ALL CALL RECORDSTo delete all records press and hold DELETEkey for approximately 8 seconds. All callswill be automatically erased. DELETE ALLwill not appear on the screen.NEW CALLSWhen a new call is received the NEW indi-cator will turn on and the LCD display willshow the call record information. After 20seconds the display will show:between the first and last call record in memory.Note: After 20 seconds with no keys pressedthe date and time screen will be displayed.RECEIVING REPEAT CALLSWhen a call is received more that once theCaller ID will only use one memory locationfor the call. This will save call memory space.When a repeat call is received the REPEATindicator will turn on. The date and time ofthe call will be updated and the call will bemoved from its current memory location tothe newest call received.The REPEAT indicator will be displayed forall repeat calls during NEW CALL reviewindicating the caller has called more thatonce.Note: The New Call counter will not incre-ment for a repeat call.RECEIVING CALLER ID ON CALLWAITING ( AT- 5 0 C W L D o n l y )The Caller ID will receive name and numberof an incoming call while you are on thephone.
