The EV-Kit is manufactured in three parts, consisting ofa mainboard, and three separate plug-inmodule boards. To adjust IC OTP settings, themain board can be interfaced to any personalcomputer with the Azoteq Configuration Tool(CTxxx), and making the adjustments bymeans of theUSBProg software. The purposeof the IQS232/43EV02 EV-Kit is to helpapplication and development engineers inevaluating the IQS232 and IQS243 proximityand touch sensors.2 EV-Kit MainboardFigure 2.1 illustrates the evaluation kitmainboard and the three supplied controllermodules. The mainboard supplies power andother functions to the controller module boardsand is easily operated. Simply plug in thedesired module board into the mainboard andturn on the mainboard by means of the on/offslide switch. Features included in the EV-Kitmainboard: Modular design: Connect one of thesupplied IC modules into the mainboard,or wire into a prototype for rapidprototyping Reference designs for IQS232 andIQS243 with user proximity & touchdetection ability LEDs to indicate proximity AND contact tothe buttons for IQS232Figure 2.1 IQS232/43EV02 Mainboardand controller modules Can be used in Data Streaming Mode:For details see the IQS232 and IQS243datasheets (EV-KIT requires AzoteqConfiguration Tool CT, or Azoteq DataStreamer DS) Can be used in Direct mode (IQS232only): Battery or USB powered OTP bits can be programmed on the kit(requires CTxxx)Figure 2.2 illustrates the bottom view of theEV-Kit mainboard. The EV-Kit is powered bytwo 3V coin cell batteries in series, which isregulated to 3.3V and supplied to the moduleboard. The EV-Kit mainboard can also drawpower from a USB source by means of themini-USB connector provided on themainboard.
