Battery Grip BG-E7!]~InstructionsThank you for purchasing a Canon product.The BG-E7 is a battery grip that can hold two Battery Packs LP-E6or six size- AAI LR6 batteries. It is al so equipped with a vertical-gripshutter button, Main Dial, etc. to enable vertical shooting with thesame ease as horizontal shooting.• Attaching to the Camera1. Remo ve the battery from the camera (Fig . 1).2. Detach the camera's battery compartment cov er (Fig. 2).3. Insert the detached cover into its storage slot to ensure that itwill not be lost (Fig. 3).4. Remove the protective cover, and then insert the electricalcontacts into the battery compartment (Fig. 4- CD ).5. Alig n the attachment screw with the camera 's tripod socket,and then turn the attach/detach knob to tighten securely to thecamera (Fig. 4 - ).0 •Be sure to attach the battery grip to the carnera before insertingthe batteries. The results of the battery check ·may not bedisplayed proper1y if you attach the battery grip to the camerawith the batteries already inside.• Before removing the battery grip from the camera , be sure toturn the camera's power switch to <OFF> , and take out thebatteries. After removing the batteries, attach the protectivecover to the electrical contacts.• Inserting the Battery Packs1. Slide the lever as shown by the arrow and open the cover(Fig. 5).2. Press both release levers outward in the battery compartment ,and remove the battery magazine (Fig. 6).3. Insert one or two Battery Packs LP-E6 in the orientation shownon the battery compartment cover (F ig. 7).4 . Close the battery compartment cover until it clicks into place.Ill • If only one battery pack is used, it may be inserted in either theright or left sides.• If two battery pac_ks are inserted, power iJ? suppliedsimultaneously by both battery packs. Two battery packs withdifferent charging levels can be inserted and used without anyproblems.• Remove the battery packs from the battery grip when thecamera will not be used for an extended period.• Inserting Size-AAILR6 Batteries1. Insert the batteries into the Battery Magazine BGM-E6 (Fig. 8).Make sure the + and- battery contacts are properly oriented asshown in the illustration.2 . Turn over the battery magazine so lhat the inserted batteriesare facing downward, and then insert the battery magazine untilthe release levers lock into place (Fig. 9).3. Close the battery compartment cover until it clicks into place.0 •Fewer images can be shot when using size-ANLR6 batteries.Also, fewer images can be shot depending on the battery brandand storage conditions, and so usage of slze-AAILR6 batteriesis recommended only for emergencies.• With size-AA/LR6 batteries, use six new batteries of the samebrand at temperatures above 20,C/68, F. The camera may notfunction when used in low temperatures or when old and newbatteries are used together.• Using a Household Power OutletTo connect to a household po w er outlet, use the AC Adapter KitACK-E6 (sold separately). (Refer to ACK-E6 Instructions.)1. Connect the DC coupler plug to the AC adapter.Connect the power cord to the AC adapter, and insert theprongs into a power outlet.2.
