CL-1SAFETY CONSIDERATIONSInstallation and servicing of air-conditioning equipment can behazardous due to system pressure and electrical components. Onlytrained and qualified service personnel should install, repair, orservice air-conditioning equipment.Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance functions ofcleaning coils and filters and replacing filters. All other operationsshould be performed by trained service personnel. When workingon air-conditioning equipment, observe precautions in the litera-ture, tags and labels attached to the unit, and other safety precau-tions that may apply.Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, mainte-nance, or use can cause explosion, fire, electrical shock or otherconditions which may cause personal injury or property damage.Consult a qualified installer, service agency, or your distributor orbranch for information or assistance. The qualified installer oragency must use factory-authorized kits or accessories when mod-ifying this product. Refer to the individual instructions packagedwith the kits or accessories when installing.Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Usequenching cloth for brazing operations. Have fire extinguisheravailable. Read these instructions thoroughly and follow all warn-ings or cautions attached to the unit. Consult local building codesand the National Electrical Code (NEC, U.S.A.) for special instal-lation requirements.Understand the signal words — DANGER, WARNING, andCAUTION. DANGER identifies the most serious hazards whichwill result in severe personal injury or death. WARNING signifieshazards that could result in personal injury or death. CAUTION isused to identify unsafe practices, which would result in minor per-sonal injury or product and property damage.Recognize safety information. This is the safety-alert symbol( ). When you see this symbol on the unit and in instructions ormanuals, be alert to the potential for personal injury.IMPORTANT: Read the entire instruction manual beforestarting installation.WARNINGElectrical shock can cause personal injury or death. Beforeinstalling or servicing system, always turn off main power tosystem. There may be more than one disconnect switch.
