NEVER connect to dashbrackets or to a factory ground.Door Trigger Input:Green: Connect to a wire that rests at (+)12V when all doors are closed and (-)ground when any door is opened.ORViolet: Connect to a wire that rests atground when all doors are closed and(+) 12V when any door is opened.Instant Trigger Input: Connect to a wirein the vehicle that goes to ground whenopened (typically the trunk) or to an op-tional Directed single zone sensor.Domelight Supervision Output (pin #30of onboard relay): Connect to a wire thatturns on the domelight to illuminate thevehicle interior when disarming and turn-ing off the ignitionAux 1 Output: Connect to an auxiliaryconvenience or expansion option. NEV-ER connect directly to a motor or high cur-rent device without a relay.(+ or -) Light Flash Output: Connect tothe vehicle parking light wire. Select thecorrect polarity with the output or vehicledamage may occur.Ground When Armed Output: Connectto a starter interrupt relay or an accessorythat requires a ground to activate whenthe system is armed.Important: NEVER connect 200mA low current outputsdirectly to a motor or high current device WITHOUTa relay,OEM Alarm Disarm: Connect to thefactory alarm disarm wire in the ve-hicle (if applicable). It is possible toaccess and change most of the feature settings using the Valet switch.1. Open a door.2. Turn the ignition on, then off.3. Select a Menu. Press and hold the Valet switch. The number of siren chirpsindicates the menu number. 1 chirp indicates menu 1, 2 chirps - menu 2, and3 chirps for menu 3.4. When the desired menu chirps are heard, release the Valet switch.5. Select a Feature. Press and release the Valet switch the number of times cor-responding to the feature you wish to change. Then press and hold one moretime to select the features.6. Program the Feature. While holding the Valet switch, you can program thefeature using the remote control.To change the desired options press;AUX= one chirp setting, whileAUX= two,three or higher chirps setting.Once a feature is programmed:• Other features can be programmed within the same menu• Another menu can be selected• The learn routine can be exited if programming is completeTo access another feature in the same menu:1. Press and release the Valet switch the number of times necessary to advancefrom the feature you just programmed to the next one you want to program.2. Then press the Valet switch once more and hold it.To select another menu:1. Press and hold the Valet switch.2. After 3 seconds, the unit advances to the next menu and the siren chirps, indi-cating which menu has been accessed.The learn routine exits if any of the following occurs:• The open door is closed• The ignition is turned On• There is no activity for 15 seconds or more• The Valet switch is pressed too many timesProgramming continued on page 2.A U XBitwriters with a date code of 6a or older require an ICupgrade (p/n 998M). Some bitwriters with a date codeof 6B do not require the IC upgrade, refer to tech tip #1112 for more information.The Bitwriter® (p/n 998U)requires chip version 2.4 ornewer to program this unit.Note: For more door lock wiring information, see tech tip #1041 at: www.directechs.com (authorized users only).Note: The sensor ground outputs from the systemare only active when the system is armed. |
