Review all sharp edges of the brake and shifters lever clamping area.Any sharp edge could damage the carbon fibers of the handlebar.Do not install a stem with an internal wedge. This type of stems generatesimportant surface pressures that will damage the carbon handlebar. Always installclamp-type stems with screws.-Assembling the handlebar in the stem:Loose the clamping system of your stem. Clean with a wipe all grease rests ofprevious installations. Inside the box you will find a small canister with mountingpaste. Apply a thin layer of it on the clamping area of the handlebar or clampingparts of the stem. This paste will reduce the necessary torque to keep the seat in itsposition during its use.Do not use grease. Use specifically mounting paste for carbon fiber products.Assemble the handlebar in the stem ensuring that is centered. Measure both sidesof the handlebar from the stem. Tighten the clamping bolts of the stem, themaximum tightening torque for the stem bolts is 4 Nm. Nevertheless if you usethe mounting paste, 3Nm will be enough to clamp the bar. If you use stems with 4bolts, ensure that the parts are centered and the torque is equal in all bolts.Tighten progressively and alternatively the bolts. Never tighten more than 4Nm.Maximumtorque 2.5 NmMaximumtorque 4 Nm |
