2SOME NOTIONS ONHUMIDITYAir always contains a certain amount of water inthe form of vapour. This determines the level ofhumidity in an atmosphere. The capacity of the air to hold water vapourincreases with temperature. This is why in our homes, as soon as the tempe-rature decreases, the vapour contained in the aircondenses, as is evident on the colder surfacesin the room, such as the windows, walls etc.The purpose of a dehumidifier is to remove theexcess moisture from the air, avoiding the dama-ge caused by condensation.Experts have established that the optimum envi-ronmental conditions for our well being and forthe home are obtained between 40% and 60%relative humidity. Lower relative humidity can beachieved with higher room temperatures. Forlower room temperatures the achievable relativehumidity will be on the higher side, closer to60%. Therefore, with lower room temperatures, you are recommended to heat the room evenminimally. This considerably increases the dehumidifyingpower of the appliance. With heating, the condensation formed by thewater vapour on windows and other cold surfa-ces evaporates into the air to be collected by thedehumidifier.DESCRIPTION/ACCESSORIES1.
