w w w . d e l l . c o m | s u p p o r t . d e l l . c o m0M1192A00CAUTION: A CAUTION indicates a potential for property damage, personalinjury, or death.Dell™ PowerVault™ 725N NAS Systems WithSoftware RAID — Information UpdateThis document provides updated information about removing and installing the powersupply in your NAS system.Removing and Installing the Power SupplyThe system supports a single power supply located behind IDE hard drive 3.To replace a failed power supply, perform the following steps.CAUTION: See your System Information Guide for complete information aboutsafety precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting againstelectrostatic discharge.1 Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from theelectrical outlet.2 Unplug the power cable from the receptacle on the system’s back panel.3 Loosen the thumbscrew at the back of the system. See Figure 1-1.4 Slide the system cover backward about 2.5 cm (1 inch), grasp the cover on both sides,and carefully lift the cover away from the system.5 Remove the plastic insert that secures the power supply inside the system. SeeFigure 1-1.6 Disconnect the power-supply cable from the converter board. See Figure 1-1.7 Grasp the front of the power supply, push it toward the back of the system, and lift itout of the chassis.8 Remove the two screws on the converter board, slide the board toward the back of thesystem about 1 cm (0.5 inch), and lift it off the guide pins and out of the chassis.
