Straining is accomplished by directing the fluidthrough "sized" openings in perforated straining ele-ments. Self-cleaning strainers have integral back-wash systems designed to isolate and clean a smallportion of the element while the remaining area contin-ues to strain normally. During operation, fluid flowthrough the strainer is continuous. A small quantity of"clean" fluid is used to wash the element and thencarry the concentrated debris away from the strainerthrough the backwash system.Read all instructions before installation oroperation of equipment.
