Instructional Supplement forFull-Body Harness with High-Vis VestSection 1: WarningsBefore using this product, the user must read,understand and comply this supplement as well as theInstructions for Full Body Harnesses also included withthis product. Failure to comply with the instructions,labels and warnings provided with this product mayresult in serious injury or death.If you have any questions about the safe and proper useof this product, or any element of your Personal FallArrest System, seek immediate assistance from acompetent person or supervisor.Section 2: Use and LimitationsThis product is designed to provide a level of enhancedvisibility for workers who are exposed to fall hazards inenvironments where vehicular traffic, the operation ofheavy equipment and other activities or conditions maypose a hazard as well. 7018-series model #’s meet orexceed the requirements of ANSI/ISEA 107-1999 for ClassII high-visibility.Based upon your application, other protective clothing orpersonal protective equipment may be required – see acompetent person or supervisor for assistance if you havequestions about your equipment.2.1 – General UseAll FallTech High-Vis Vest Harnesses can be used for fallarrest and travel restraint. 7018-series model numbersmay also be used for work positioning. See Section 2 and 3 ofthe FBH Instructions for details.2.2 - Donning and AdjustmentBefore donning and adjusting your Vest Harness, inspect theproduct in accordance with Section 8 of your FBHInstructions and ensure that the vest is properly attached andsecured. See figure 1.1. Lift the harness by the back D-ring and untangle thestraps, allowing the leg straps to hang free.2. Don the vest harness as you would a jacket,ensuring that the back D-ring is between yourshoulder blades. See figure 2.3. Fasten the chest strap buckle.4. Fasten both leg straps – they should be adjusted tobe snug, but not tight.5. Adjust the chest strap and right and left torso strapadjusters so that the harness fits snug, but not tight.6. Zip up the vest and proceed to your work location.See figure 3 of this supplement and Section 3.5 ofyour FBH Instructions for details.2.3 - Leg Strap Stash PouchIf you will not be exposed to any fall hazards, and will not betied- off, the leg straps may be unfastened and stashed in theinner pouch in the back of the vest. See figure 4.Warning: Never attempt to tie-off with the leg strapsstashed. Always ensure that all straps are fastened andproperly adjusted prior to tying off. Failure to do so mayresult in serious injury or death.2.4 - Lanyard Keeper7018-series model numbers are equipped with a single lanyardkeeper. See figure 5 for details.Warning: Never use a hip or side D-ring as a lanyardkeeper (to stow the second leg of a dual-leg lanyard).2.5 - Tying OffSee Section 3 of your FBH Instructions.Section 3: Inspection, Maintenance and StorageThis product must be thoroughly inspected by the user beforeeach use. Refer to Section 8 of your FBH Instructions forcritical inspection details and procedures. If this product doesnot pass the inspection, immediately remove it from serviceand have it replaced. Failure to do so may result in seriousinjury or death.Your full-body harness (FBH) should maintained and stored inaccordance with Section 9 of your FBH Instructions. The vestmay be hand-washed in a light solution of soap and water andshould be hung and allowed to air dry. Re-attach the vest asshown in figure 1.MFBH02 ALX |
