Do NOT use this fan with any solid-state speedcontrol device.2. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch poweroff at service panel and lock the service,disconnecting means to prevent power frombeing switched on accidentally. When theservice-disconnect cannot be locked, securelyfasten a prominent warning device, such as atag, to the service panel.3. Use this unit only in the manner intended byGAF. If you have any installation questions, pleasecontact Master Flow® Technical Servicesat 1-800-211-9612.4. For rooftop or outdoor use only. This ventilatorhas an unguarded impeller. Do NOT use inlocations readily accessible to people or animals.5. Do NOT use on roofs having a slope lessthan 2:12.6. For general ventilation purpose only. Do NOTuse to exhaust hazardous material, dust, orcombustible vapors.7. During installation, always wear appropriatesafety glasses, gloves, hard hats, restraints,and other safety equipment to avoid injury.Warning: Always wear durable work gloveswhen handling this unit.8. Observe all applicable building andelectrical codes.9. Installation work and electrical wiring should bedone by a qualified person in accordance withall building codes and the National ElectricalCode (U.S. only), including codes for fire ratings.Contact a qualified electrician it you are notcomfortable or familiar with electrical codes and/or installations.10. The ventilator should be connected to a 120 volt,60 hertz, grounded circuit only with minimum14-gauge wiring that has at least 3 amperes ofavailable capacity. If you cannot confirm there issufficient electrical capacity on an existing circuit,install a separate dedicated circuit. Do NOT usean extension cord to operate.11. Inspect for hidden utilities before cutting ordrilling. Do NOT damage electrical wiring orother hidden utilities when cutting or drilling.12. Make sure the fan blade is on tight and ensurethe set screw is securely tightened.13. Ducted fans must always be vented tothe outdoors.14. FOR HOMES WITH A GAS OR OIL FURNACE ORAPPLIANCE LOCATED IN THE SAME SPACE: Theventilator MUST be wired with a switch or otherinterlocking device to prevent the furnace andventilator from operating at the same timeduring the heating cycle. The switch or otherinterlocking device MUST disconnect the ventunit from the electrical circuit power.
