InstallationInstructionsConvert Natural Gas to LP Gas OperationConvert LP Gas to Natural Gas OperationWARNING: This conversionmust be performed by a qualified installeror gas supplier in accordance with themanufacturer’s instructions and all codesand requirements of the authority havingjurisdiction. Failure to follow instructionscould result in serious injury or propertydamage. The qualified agency performingthis work assumes responsibility for theconversion.WARNING: The rangetop, asshipped from the factory, is set for use with itsintended gas. If you wish to use your rangetopwith the alternate gas, you must firstreplace the orifices and convert the pressureregulator.WARNING: The followingadjustments must be made before turningon the burner. Failure to do so could result inserious injury. Be sure pressure regulator hasbeen converted as described in Step 2.TOOLS YOU NEEDED FOR CONVERSIONSafety GlassesSmall Flat-Head Screwdriver(2 to 2.4 mm or 3/32” tip size,60 mm long)Crescent Wrench1/4” and 7mm Nutdrivers7/16” (11 mm)Open End WrenchSmall Pliers1/2” DeepwellSocket WrenchPhilipsScrewdriver1 ORIFICE HOLDERThe range orifice holder is located behind the frontaccess panel at the bottom of the range. Removethe door(s) (See instructions on Page 10) and thescrews on the top andbottom of the front accesspanel. Remove the frontaccess panel to access theorifice holder.Additional orifices maybe present. Use only theorifices specified in theinstructions for your rangeor rangetop.2 CONVERT THE REGULATOR(S)Disconnect all electrical power at the main circuitbreaker or fuse box.A. Shut off the gas supply by closing the manualshut-off valve on the unit or by the wall.B. Move the range out in order to access therear of the unit.C. Remove the range back to access the regulator(s)- (1) on 30” & 36” ranges and (2) on 48” ranges.D. Convert the pressure regulator(s):• Unscrew the cap with plunger.• Place your thumb against flat side of theplunger and press down to snap the plungerout of the cap.• Carefully look at the plunger to locate the NATor LP position.• Turn the plunger over so that the desired gasis showingnear thebottom.• Snap theplunger backinto the cap.• Screw the capback onto theregulator.E. Reverse these steps to reassemble thepressure regulator.DOWNFOR OFFNATLPLPNATLPNATNATLPGasketCapPlungerLP PositionNAT.PositionPressure Regulator3 CHANGE BURNER ORIFICESINSTALLATION TIP: First removeall orifices and then startreplacing them. This will help toprevent the possibility that somemay not be replaced.A. Remove the burner grates,burner caps and burner heads.B. Loosen the top burner orifices usinga 7 mm nut driver. Use smallpliers to carefully lift out theorifices.The main orifice is locatedlow in the center of theburner, while the simmerorifice is located higher beside the center of theburner.IMPORTANT: Find your model number below.Read each orifice label to identify and install themin the exact locations shown.A.Return the unused orifices to the holder.Reattach the holder and the instruction sheetwith screw in the original storage location.B.Replace the burner heads, caps and topgrates. On range models, replace rear vent trim.Burner CapBurnerHeadSparkIgniterBurner BaseMainOrificeSimmerOrificeZGP304 SIMMER ORIFICESA 34SL or 51SN orifice willbe used on all burners.ZGP364, ZGP366, ZGP484, ZGP486SIMMERORIFICESA 34SL or 51SNorifice will beused on allburners.Use 108XL or190XN orifices forall burners.MAINORIFICES4 CHANGE GRILL ORIFICE (if present)Locate the 1–1/2” long Grill orifice.Select the proper orifice size for your gas andburner from the conversion chart.A. Remove the grill cover, gratesand grate frame. Lift theradiant baffle straight up andoff.B. Remove the 2 hex headscrews from the top of theigniter.• Remove one screw fromeach side of the burnersurround.• Lift out the surround.C. Carefully push the igniteraside and under theburner. Do not pull orpinch the wire.Remove 4 burnerattachment screws,2 at the front and2 at the back. Slidethe burner assemblytoward the back andout of the gas inlet.D.Use a 1/2” deep wellsocket to remove andreplace the orifice .Reverse these steps tore-assemble the grill. Besure to place the unusedorifice in the holder forpossible future use.Remove2 hexheadscrewsSurroundScrewsBurnerSurround IgniterBurnerAssemblyFront of RangeCapillaryFront of Range5 CHANGE GRIDDLE ORIFICE(if present)Locate the 3/4” long griddle orifice.Select the proper orifice size for your gasand burner from the conversion chart.A. Lift off the griddle flue cover. Remove the 2inside clamping screws.B. Lift out the cast-iron grease trough.Slide the griddletoward the rearand out of thehold-down tabsalong the bottom.C. Carefully lift andhold the griddlewhile pullingadditional lengthof the capillaryfrom the entryhole. Stand thegriddle on end in the grease sump.D. Remove the 2hold-down screwsat the rear of theburner.Pull the burnerstraight backtoward the rearand out of the gas inlet.E. Use a 1/2” deepwellsocket to removeand replace theorifice.Reverse these stepsto reassemble thegriddle. Push excesscapillary back into the entry hole. Place theunused orifice in the holder for possiblefuture use.Griddle Flue CoverClamping ScrewsLeveling ScrewsNOTE: Removethe 2 screwspositioned onthe inside only.Do not removethe outermostscrews—theyare for leveling.Back of Range6A CHANGE MAIN BAKE BURNERORIFICELocate the 3/4” long bake burner orifice.Select the proper orifice size for your gas and burnerfrom the conversion chart.A. Remove the oven door and set aside in asafe location.B. Remove the 2 oven bottom hold-downscrews from the rear of the cover.C. Slide the oven bottom forward and setaside.D. Remove the burner diffuser screw.E. Lift the front of the burner diffuser upslightly and slide it forward to disengagethe clips at the rear. Set the burner diffuseraside.Hold-Down ScrewsOvenBottomDiffuser screwClips31-10766-1 11-10 GE1Front Access CoverZGP304 MAIN ORIFICESA 84XL or 126HXNorifice will be usedon these threeburners.Use a 108XL or190XN orificefor the rightfront burner. |
