It can beyour current location, a point on the Map Page, or any itemfrom the Find Menu.Finding a DestinationYou can search for a destination using the Find Menu. Adestination can be any map item such as a Waypoint, City, orPoint of Interest, such as a restaurant or museum, availablefrom the map database. Without downloaded detailed mapdata from Garmin MapSource®, only items in the unitbasemap, such as waypoints, cities, interstate exits, tidestations, and geocache points can be used as destinations.1. Press FIND to show the FindMenu.2. Use the ROCKER to selectan icon, such as Food& Drink, and then pressENTER to show the list ofdestinations. By default,the list displays only thosenearest to your currentlocation. Press MENU toview the options list.3. Use the ROCKER to scrollthrough the list until the yourdestination is highlighted.Then press ENTER to showthe information page for thatwaypoint.4. Use the ROCKER to selectthe Go To button at thebottom of the page. Thenpress ENTER to beginnavigation.Navigating to a WaypointWhen using Go To to navigate, you are directed to follow adirect line (or course) to the waypoint. The direction you areto move is the heading (N, S, E, W). If you stray off courseyou can use a bearing (compass pointer) to be redirectedtoward your destination. The Map, Compass, and TripComputer Pages use these elements to direct your navigationefforts.1. Press PAGE repeatedly until theCompass Page appears. Thispage contains a Bearing Pointerand a Compass Ring.The Bearing Pointer indicates thedirection to go and the CompassRing rotates to indicate Northorientation when you begin tomove. Data fields at the top of thepage display selectable navigationinformation, such as speed,distance to go, and elapsed time.2. Press PAGE or QUIT to open the Map Page and seeyour progress toward the waypoint. A Bearing lineappears on the map and the Position Arrow moves asyou move.3. Press PAGE or QUIT again to open the Trip ComputerPage. This page provides travel data, such as a tripodometer, and maximum speed.4.
