Use a smoke detector andcarbon monoxide detector in the space that the stove is installed in. If you are not familiar with wood stove installation, we recommend seeking the helpof a professional installer. It is recommended that a flue gas thermometer be installed on the stove pipe 18”above the stove to monitor flue gas temperatures and ensure the stove is operatingat a safe temperature. The stove must be installed no closer than 36” from any combustible material. Thisdistance can be reduced by as much as 2/3 if a heat shield of 24ga. (or thicker)
