INTENDED USEThe Secure Turn Patient Turner has been designedto rotate a standing patient during a transfer frome.g. wheelchair to a chair.2. SAFETYWarning: The maximum user weight must not bemore than 190Kg (30st).Please note the user must not be transported usingthe device.Ensure the handle is facing the wheel and that thebrake is locked before manoeuvring the Secure Turn.Never assist a user to alight from the wheeled sideof the Secure Turn.Transfers should only be carried out to the left orright through 45° or 90°.User alighting should only be performed when thebrake is engaged and the Secure Turn is stabilisedby a carer.The Secure Turn should be inspected on a regularbasis for signs of damage or wear that might affectsafe use.3. UNPACKINGRemove the packaging and check all parts carefully.Contact your supplier immediately if parts aremissing or damaged and do not try and assemble.4. IN USE1. Familiarise yourself with the operation of theSecure Turn before attempting to transfer a user,in particular the brake locking mechanism.2. To manoeuvre the Secure Turn into position, withthe handle facing the wheels and brake locked inposition, tilt the device back onto the wheels andmove into position.3. Place the seat/chair that the user is transferringto into position at 45° or 90° to the user’s currentposition.4. Place the turntable up to the user’s feet with thewheels facing the carer.5. The user should position their feet, evenly spaced,on the turntable mat. The user may need to moveto the edge of the seat before rising to reduce theeffort required.
