INTENDED USEThis Shower seat is intended to be used in a bathroom or shower, to provide a stable seated surface forclients with reduced mobility who are unable to stand during showering. It can be folded up against thewall when not in use.Figure 1: Shower Seat (in use)2. SAFETYWarning: The maximum user weight must not bemore than 136Kg (21.5st) based on the productbeing fitted to a suitable surface using appropriatefixings by a competent person.It is recommended that this product should only beinstalled by a suitably qualified, competent person.Only install the product in an area wherethe mounting surface is structurally sound(strengthening modifications to the fixing surfacemay be required).DO NOT install in fibreglass/acrylic showerenclosures with insufficient stiffness and strength.This product must only be secured to the wall usingfasteners that are appropriate to the structural basematerial.Inspect the product at regular intervals for weardamage and instability, do not use if you suspect afault.3. UNPACKINGRemove the packaging and check all partscarefully. Contact your supplier immediately ifparts are missing or damaged and do not try andassemble.Note: Fixings are not supplied with this product.4. ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATIONNote: You must make sure that the shower base islevel where the seat will be installed.1. Unfold the seat as shown in Figure 1, thenadjust the legs to the correct height for the user.2. Using a spirit level, check the seat is fully level.3. Mark the fixing positions for the wall mountingbrackets on the wall.4. Using appropriate, stainless steel screws andfixings, secure the brackets to the wall.5. Check that seat can be raised and loweredwithout interference, and that the feet aresecurely in contact with the shower base whenlowered.6. Make sure the seat is fully secure before use.5. IN USENote: Always raise and lower the shower seat usingthe seat only, not the legs.1. Pull the seat down from the wall, making surethat both legs are level and in contact with theshower floor.2. Check the seat it is fully secure before sittingdown.3. Sit centrally on the shower seat.4. Raise the seat when not in use.
