Jabsco pumps are also available aspedestal mounted or close-coupled units with capacitiesto 100 GPM for other sanitary applications. Contactfactory for details.OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS1. INSTALLATION – Pump may be mounted in anyposition. The rotation of the pump shaft determinesthe location of the pump’s intake and dischargeports. Refer to dimensional drawing. Pump isnormally assembled at factory for clockwise rotationlooking at end cover. If counterclockwise rotation isdesired, follow steps 1 and 2 of disassembly andstep 9 of assembly instructions to change directionof impeller blade deflection under cam.2. DRIVE – Belt or direct with flexible coupling. BeltDrive: Overtight belt load will reduce pump bearinglife. Direct Drive: Clearance should be left betweendrive shaft and pump shaft when installing coupling.Always mount and align pump and drive shaft beforetightening the coupling set screw. If pulley orcoupling must be pressed on shaft, remove endcover and impeller to support shaft from impeller endduring press operation. Do not hammer pulley orcoupling on shaft; this may damage bearing or seal.Capacitor start motor is required to overcomestarting torque of impeller.3. SPEEDS – 100 RPM to the maximum shown in theperformance curves. For longer pump life, operateat lowest possible speeds. Lower speeds arerequired for viscous liquids, consult the factory forproper speeds and horsepower requirements.4. SELF-PRIMING – Primes at low or high speeds. Forvertical dry suction lift of 10 feet, a minimum of 800RPM is required. Pump will produce suction lift up to22 feet when wet. BE SURE SUCTION LINES AREAIRTIGHT OR PUMP WILL NOT SELF-PRIME.5. DISCHARGE - When transferring liquids furtherthan 25 feet, use 3" discharge line.6. RUNNING DRY – Unit depends on liquid pumpedfor lubrication. DO NOT RUN DRY for more than 30seconds. Lack of liquid will damage the impeller.7. PUMPAGE COMPATIBILITY – When corrosivecleaning fluids are handled, pump life will beprolonged if pump is flushed with a neutralizingsolution after each use or after each work day. ATungsten Carbide Seal variation is available forpumping liquids that contain abrasives or are highlycorrosive.8. PRESSURES – Consult Performance Curves formaximum recommended pressures for pump incontinuous operation. If pressures exceed thoseshown, consult the factory.9. TEMPERATURES – The operating temperature limitsof the pump: 45° to 150° F (7° to 65° C).N.B. 3A option to include Elastomers : EPDM andNeoprene. Ports : Tri-Clamp, IDF, 3A and DIN11851. |
