From the factory, the thermostat faceplate is not firmlyconnected to the backplate. While holding the thermostat, firmly near the bottom, gently pull apart the backplate fromthe faceplate.2. Place the rectangular opening in the backplate over theequipment control wires protruding from the wall. Use thebackplate as a template and mark the location of the twomounting holes.A NOTE: There are several versions of the X-Seriesthermostat. The wiring instructions for the equipment areidentical.3. Use the supplied anchors and screws for mounting ondrywall or plaster; drill two 3/16” (5mm) diameter holes at themarked locations; tap the nylon anchors flush to the wallsurface and fasten the backplate using the supplied screws.C WARNING: Do not over-tighten the screws!4. Connect the wires from your system to the thermostatterminals as shown in the Wiring Diagrams section of thismanual. Carefully dress the wires so that any excess ispushed back into the wall cavity or junction box. Ensure thatthe wires are flush with the plastic backplate. The accesshole should be sealed or stuffed to prevent drafts fromaffecting the thermostat.Reattach Faceplate5. Reattach the faceplate to the backplate by placing the topof the faceplate over the top lip of the backplate.6. Gently swing the thermostat down and press on the bottomcenter edge until it snaps in place. This is a tight connectionbut may require a little wiggle to align the pins on thefaceplate with the screw terminals on the backplate before itsnaps into place.Page 1 240273-07 |
