They includeimportant safety and operation information. Be sure to charge the 9940XLfully before the first use. A battery is fully charged when the charger light isgreen.Included in the box - Compris dans la boîte - Incluido en la cajaWARNINGS Lithium Ion batteries must be used and charged properly. Improper usecan result in serious injury, fire, or death. Do not use this product in explosive atmospheres, near flammable liquids,or where explosion proof or intrinsically safe lighting is required. DO NOT use this product in the proximity of vehicles or equipment whenthere is a risk of flammable liquids coming into contact with the flashlight. Do not leave the battery in direct sunlight or use or store the battery insidecars in hot weather. Do not expose the battery to water or salt water, or allow the battery toget wet. Do not store the battery with metallic objects that may cause a short circuit. Immediately discontinue use of the battery if the battery emits an unusualsmell, feels hot, changes color, changes shape or appears abnormal in any way. Keep out of the reach of children. WARNING: NOT FOR USE IN HAZARDOUS LOCATIONSINITIAL USE Fully charge the 9940XL before the first use, or if the battery is new orhas been unused for several months. The maximum charge time requiredis approximately 6 hours.DAILY USE Use only the supplied Nightstick charger, battery and AC or DC adapter.For best performance, charge the 9940XL when the flashlight beam startsto dim. Connect the AC power adapter to the charger. The LED indicator will notbe illuminated at this point. With the flashlight facing forward, slide the 9940XL into the charger untilthe contacts snap into place. The LED indicator changes to constant red indicating the 9940XL isproperly inserted into the charger and is in fact charging. The LED indicatorremains red until the battery is fully charged. At full charge, the LED indicatorturns green. The total time to full charge the 9940XL varies depending on the remainingcharge in the battery pack. To confirm a full charge, keep the 9940XL in the charger and turn it on.The LED indicator will change to red. Turn off the 9940XL. If the 9940XL isfully charged, the LED indicator will turn green. If not, it remains red untilthe charge is completed and the LED indicator turns green. The 9940XL willnow be fully charged.OPERATIONThe 9940 has seven light modes: momentary flashlight, full brightnessflashlight, medium brightness flashlight, low brightness flashlight, floodlight,dual-light and strobe. The 9940 has two body switches providing access toall modes.Momentary Flashlight ModeLightly press the top body switch for momentary operation. Release theswitch to turn the light off.Constant-onPress the top body switch until it clicks and then release for constant-onin high-brightness mode. Press and release the top body switch again to turnthe light off.Select Brightness LevelPress and hold down the top body switch. The light will cycle from highto medium to low and then back up again at a rate of approximately onemode per second. The light will continue to cycle up and down through thevarious modes as long as the top body switch is held down. When the desiredbrightness level is reached, simply release the top body switch, and the lightwill remain in that brightness mode. Press and release the top body switchto turn the light off.FloodlightPress the bottom body switch until it clicks and then release for floodlightmode. Press and release the bottom body switch again to turn the light off.Dual-LightDual-Light allows the user to turn on both the Flashlight (at any brightnesslevel) and the Floodlight, at the same time. First select the appropriatebrightness level of the flashlight using the directions above. Next press andrelease the bottom switch to activate the floodlight. Both the Flashlight andthe Floodlight are now running. Press and release both the top and bottombody switches to turn the light off.Strobe FunctionFrom off or any mode, rapidly double click the switch to activate the strobefunction running at full brightness. Press and release the body switch to turnthe light off.WARRANTYLIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTYThis product is warranted to be free from defects in workmanship andmaterials for the lifetime of the original owner (includes the housing, lenses,electronics and switches). The Remote Pressure Switch and Weaver QuadLock Mount are warranted for 1 year.
