Failure to do somay cause the battery to become hot, rupture or ignite and cause serious damageor injury. Turn off the light while charging. Charge at a moderate temperature, do not charge below freezing Discontinue using charger and/or battery if the light or battery becomes excessivelywarm during charging. Do not overheat or overcharge. In extreme cases this may lead to combustion. Several partial discharges with frequent recharges are better for lithium-ion batterylife than a single deep charge. Keep the lithium-ion battery within the rated operating ambient temperature range. For prolonged storage, keep the battery charged with approximately 40% chargelevel or above and in a dry cool environment.Initial UseFully charge the NIGHTSTICK before the first use or if the battery is new or has beenunused for several months. The charge time for maximum capacity is approximately 6hours.Daily UseUse only the supplied Nightstick charge platform, battery and AC or DC adapter.For best performance, charge the NIGHTSTICK when the flashlight beam starts to dim. Connect the AC power adapter to the charging platform. The LED indicator will lightwith an alternating green and red pattern. With the flashlight facing forward, slide the Nightstick into the charging platform untilthe contacts snap into place. The indicator changes to constant red indicating the Nightstick is properly insertedinto the charging platform and charging. The light remains red until the battery is fullycharged. At full charge, the light turns green. The total time to full charge variesdepending on the remaining charge in the battery pack. To confirm a full charge, keep the Nightstick in the charger and turn it on. Thecharging indicator changes to red. Turn off the Nightstick. If the Nightstick is fullycharged the light turns green. If not, it remains red until full charge is completed andthe light turns green. The Nightstick can now be removed for the charger.SPECIFICATIONSSAFETYCAUTION BRIGHT LED RADIATION: AVOID DIRECT EYE EXPOSURE. NIGHTSTICKis a Class 2 LED product per IEC 60825-1 Edition 1.2.2001. Do not use or charge this NIGHTSTICK in explosive or hazardous areas. Do not attempt to repair or disassemble the NIGHTSTICK, the charger platform,battery or the power supply. Use only the NIGHTSTICK charging platform, AC or DC adapters and battery pack. Using this NIGHTSTICK product for other than a lighting device is not recommended.Bayco specifically disclaims liability for other than intended use.OPERATIONThe 9612 / 9614 flashlights have five light modes: momentary, full brightness, mediumbrightness, low brightness and strobe. The 9612 has a single body switch. The 9614 hasan additional tail-cap switch that operates in tandem with the body switch allowingaccess to all modes from either switch.Momentary Mode Lightly press the body switch for momentary operation.Constant High Brightness Fully press the body switch for constant-on.Select Brightness Level From the constant-on mode continue pressing the switch. The light will cycle fromhigh to medium to low brightness and then reset the cycle. When the desiredbrightness level is reached remove your finger from the switch and the light willremain at that brightness. Pressing and holding the switch will restart the brightnessselection cycle.Strobe Function From off or any mode, rapidly double click the switch to activate the strobe functionrunning at full brightness.ADDITIONAL FEATURESChemical ResistanceThe housing is made from aluminum alloy that is resistant to most automotive andindustrial chemicals.Waterproof and ImpactThe 9612 /9614 meets IP-X7., 1 meter for 30 minutes.Impact to 2 metersEMIThe charging platform and light are electromagnetically compatible with FCC regulationsCFR-47, Part 15, Sub-Part B and Class A.BatteryNIGHTSTICK is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery pack.ChargingThe flashlight can is charged in the charging platform by using the AC power adapter, DCpower cord or standard USB port found on most laptop computers. Use the Baycosupplied 12V DC fused auto adapter plug for temporary vehicle installations. Forpermanent wiring, the installation must be fused using a 3-amp in-line fuse. The DC inputterminal that connects to the base of the charger platform is center-positive.
