Improper use may also causeaccident.Use in an environment which meets the followingconditionsȕDry location protected from rain, water, and oils.ȕLocation not subject to wide temperature changes.ȕLocation free from cutting chips and dust.ȕHorizontal surface which is stable and free from vibration.ȕLocation protected from use by children andunauthorized people .ʋUse in location contrary to the above may cause pooraccuracy, damage to the product, or may result in accidentor injury.Handle with Care.ʋDo not drop or subject to shock -- instrument accuracymay be affected.ʋDo not allow water or oil to sit on measurement base,use a soft cloth to clean.Protect measuring platform from scratches.ʋTo prevent damage, use care when placing workpiecesonto platform surface, and avoid sharp edges.When mounting measurement instrument tobracket clamp, make sure clamp is tightened firmly.ʋIf clamp is loose, measurement instrument may fall andcause damage or affect instrument accuracy.Follow instructions to apply rust preventivetreatment after use.ʋPlease refer to “CLEANING AND STORAGE AFTERUSE” section below to prevent corrosion of instrument.Wipe measuring platform with a clean, dry cloth to remove anycontamination. Then wipe with cloth moistened with alcohol.Apply rust preventive oil to the Measuring Platform. Insure that top is tight and is not scratched. Donot use with damaged or loose table top as it will affect accuracy.ƪCheck that bracket moves smoothly.Loosen the bracket clamp and check that it moves smoothly onthe main post. Otherwise, clean post and remove anycontamination or corrosion.ƫAttach the measurement instrument to the bracket.Firmly tighten the bracket clamp.Loosen the instrument mounting clamp and insert themeasuring instrument stem into the mounting hole. Fix theinstrument by tightening the instrument mounting clamp.Measuring InstrumentƫFine Adjustment KnobStemƪBracketClampƩBracketTaking Measurements.1. Make sure that there is no dirt or dust on the measuring table,measuring instrument, or workpiece.2. While supporting the bracket by hand, loosen the bracket clampand adjust to roughly the desired height before retightening thebracket clamp.3. Use the fine adjust knob to fine-tune the height Perform thedesired measurements.CHECKING THE PLATFORM FOR WEARMeasuring platform will wear with continued use.Please check for wear before each useInstall an accurate measuring instrument.Measure block gauge placed at several points on measuringsurface and make sure the reading is consistent. If the readingvaries significantly, please discontinue use as the wear on themeasuring surface is to large.Wear and performance degradation will vary greatlydepending on frequency and type of use.
