The NS-1228A is designedto supply up to 28 Amps maximum current or 22 Amps continuous current at 13.8 VDC. The NS-1245A isdesigned to supply up to 45 Amps maximum current or 40 Amps continuous current at 13.8 VDC.PROTECTION: The NS-1228A/NS-1245A will automatically shut off if overcurrent or overvoltage.PROTECTION:To reset, turn the unit OFF and wait 20 seconds, then turn the unit back on. The NS-1228A/NS-1245Ahas a fuse in the power cord connection on the back of the unit. There are two slots for these fuses.The slot closest to the unit locks the fuse in place and then becomes part of the circuit. The slot at therear of the tray is a place to store a spare fuse for emergency cases. Please use the same type andrating of fuse. The NS-1228A used 220V/5A fuse, and the NS-1245 used 220V/10A fuse.FAN: The cooling fan on the NS-1228A/NS-1245A will operate when the unit is turned ON. The speedFAN:of the fan varies depending on the setting of the DC output.OPERATION:DC Adjustment: The DC adjustment control knob on the front panel is used to set the DC outputvoltage of the NS-12280A/NS-1245A from 9V to 15VDC. For most HF and VHF radios , set the outputat 13.8VDC.OPERATION:INSTALLATION: Before plugging in the NS-1228A/NS-1245A in an AC outlet make sure that theINSTALLATION:proper input voltage was selected on the rear of the unit. Select 115 for 100/110/120 VAC operationor 230 for 200/220/240 VAC operation. NS-1228A/NS-1245A is factory set for 230VAC. The loadscan be connected to either the 5-way binding posts or to the cigarette lighter socket. You have thethird fast connector on NS-1245A. Note that any devices that require more than 7 Amps must use the5-Way binging post output. The cigarette lighter socket or fast connector output only be used formaximum 7 Amps output.
