Software InstallationInsert the OS100-Soft CD into your computer’s CD-Romdrive. The installation program should start upautomatically. If it does not start automatically locateand run the Setup.exe file on the CD.Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 is a pre-requisite forthis application and will be automatically installedfrom the CD if missing. This will require you to acceptthe license agreement prior to proceeding.Navigate through the step-by-step screens until youhave successfully installed the OS100 software.The default directory for the executable is: \Programs\OS100-Soft\OS100-Soft.exePlease review the software online guide.RS232 CommunicationPC Interface ConnectionAll commands sent to the OS100E series must beterminated by a carriage return or carriage return andlinefeed, and is shown in this document as “CR” and“LF”. Any parameters shown in square brackets “[ ]” areoptional. Parameters are separated from commands andfrom each other by a space “ “. The valid range for this parameteris 0 to 1. A value of 1 will cause the alarm to activate onrising temperature, and 0 will cause activation on fallingtemperature.Examples:Typing “AMODE” and pressing “Enter” does notchange the activation mode but it is reported.Typing “AMODE 0” and pressing “Enter” changes theactivation mode to falling and is reported as such.EMS Command:Description: Transmit emissivity settingSyntax: EMS CR [LF]CABLE Command:Description:Syntax: CABLE [SP LENGTH] CR [LF](Optional) LENGTH: Specifies the total length (in feet)of cable attached between the sensor head and thetransmitter box. The valid range for this parameter is6 to 56. OMEGA’s WARRANTY adds an additional one (1)month grace period to the normal one (1) year product warrantyto cover handling and shipping time. This ensures that OMEGA’scustomers receive maximum coverage on each product.If the unit malfunctions, it must be returned to the factory for evalua-tion. OMEGA’s Customer Service Department will issue an AuthorizedReturn (AR) number immediately upon phone or written request.Upon examination by OMEGA, if the unit is found to be defective, itwill be repaired or replaced at no charge. OMEGA’s WARRANTY doesnot apply to defects resulting from any action of the purchaser, includ-ing but not limited to mishandling, improper interfacing, operationoutside of design limits, improper repair, or unauthorized modifica-tion. This WARRANTY is VOID if the unit shows evidence of havingbeen tampered with or shows evidence of having been damaged as aresult of excessive corrosion; or current, heat, moisture or vibration;improper specification; misapplication; misuse or other operatingconditions outside of OMEGA’s control. Components in which wearis not warranted, include but are not limited to contact points, fuses,and triacs.OMEGA is pleased to offer suggestions on the use of its vari-ous products.
