Portable StereoCD SystemOperating InstructionsModel No. RX-D25RX-D21Note:“EB” on the packaging indicates the United Kingdom.Before connecting, operating or adjusting thisproduct, please read these instructions completely.Please keep this manual for future reference.Power sourcesMemory back-upDuring power supply interruption, memory back-up batteries (not included) save CD programs andradio stations you have set.These batteries do not power the unit.(R6/LR6, AA, UM-3)When to change the batteriesThe batteries last about a year.Connect the unit to AC power before replacingthe batteries.• Before connecting or disconnecting the ACmains lead, stop the tape and switch[ ] to “TAPE/ ” to turn the unit off.The memory batteries are worn out faster ifthe cord is disconnected with the power stillon.Removing the batteriesPress the negative end of the number 4 batteryand remove the batteries. (Remove the powerbatteries first.)Using a household AC outletFOR UNITED KINGDOM ONLYREAD THE CAUTION FOR THE AC MAINSLEAD ON PAGE 7 BEFORE CONNECTION.Connect the AC mains lead firmly to the unit andthe outlet.Note• The included AC mains lead is for use withthis unit only. Do not use it with otherequipment.• The function selector switch does not separateentire unit from mains even if in “TAPE/ ”position.Using batteries (not included)The unit cannot be powered by batteries if theAC mains lead is connected.(R20/LR20, D, UM-1)When to change the batteriesSound quality and operations are affected whenthe batteries are running low. Replace all sixbatteries.
