Model 1008 LED DimmerREV 2 ManualCONNECTIONSOVERVIEWThe Pathway eDIN LED Dimmer/DC Driver providesDMX512 control over LEDs and other DC devices. Each module provides 6 channels of control. When controlling LEDs, the module acts as adimming interface only. The LED fixture will require aseparate regulated DC power supply, asrecommended by its manufacturer. These instructions apply to REV 2 modules.eDIN LED Dimmer/DC Driver modules feature terminalstrips that can be removed from the module to facilitatewiring and replacement. Make the following connectionsWITH THE POWER TURNED OFF:POWERThe module is designed to run on a range of voltagesfrom 9 to 30 VDC, at 500mA per card connected.Observe the correct polarity when connecting to V+and V-. A second set of terminals is provided on thesame connector to daisy-chain power to other eDIN mod-ules. Earth Ground must be connected to the enclosure’schassis or ground terminal to ensure EMC compliance.DMX512DMX connections consist of a shield wire and one ortwo data pairs. DMX IN is wired from the control console,or other source. DMX THRU may be daisy-chained to theDMX IN of other eDIN cards, or to other DMX equipment.Connect DATA+ and DATA– wires to D1+ and D1-respectively. The optional data pair may be connected toD2+ and D2-. Observe the same polarity conventionthroughout the system. Connect the shield wire to theSHLD/COM terminal.DC/PWM OUTPUTSThe LED Dimmer/DC Driver interface provides six (6)outputs that will each handle up to 4 amps at voltages upto 30VDC. The outputs are of the current-sinking type. Aseparate DC power supply is required, appropriately sizedfor the connected load, as recommended by the con-nected equipment’s manufacturer.‘DMX PRESENT’ RELAY CLOSUREEach output is fully opto-isolated from the other out-puts, from the DMX signal and from the eDIN boardpower supply. Multiple pins are provided to allow for loadspreading. Outputs are connected as follows:LOAD- (Terminals 1 & 2): Connects to the negative termi-nal of the load, or the LED Cathode.V- (Terminals 3 & 4): Connects to the negative or com-mon terminal of the load power supply.V+ (Terminals 5 & 6): Connects to the positive terminal ofthe load power supply and to the positive terminal of theload, or the LED Anode.OUTPUT 1TERMINATELOAD-V- INOFFINV+DMX THRUISO 5VDMXDMX IND2-D2+D1-D1+D2+SHLDONCOMD2-D1+COMSHLDD1-TESTADDRESSUTILMODEENTERV-V+V-GROUNDEARTHV+INV+V+ INV+ ININV-LOAD-OUTPUT 2V+ INV+ ININV-LOAD-OUTPUT 3V+ INV+ ININV-LOAD-OUTPUT 4V+ INV+ ININV-LOAD-OUTPUT 5V+ INV+ ININV-LOAD-OUTPUT 6RNCRNOIN-GNDCCLRCOMAIN1AIN2AIN3AIN4AIN5AIN6OUTPUT RATING5-30vdc @ 96w MAXInternally Fused @ 4A/Output(2 Spare Fuses Inside)POWER IN9-30VDCMax 4 WattsWire RCOM to RNC or RNO for a normally closed ornormally open DMX indicator, as desired. When DMX is present, the closure will be held in astate opposite to its ‘normal’ position.CONTACT CLOSURE ‘PANIC’ INPUTWhen CCL is shorted to IN-GND, for example by clos-ing an e-stop switch, all outputs are forced to the MAXoutput level, regardless of DMX level or signal presence.ANALOG INPUTApplying a 0-10VDC input between any AIN(x)and the IN-GND pin will drive that particular output. Out-put level is an HTP-merge between the DC voltage leveland the incoming DMX signal for that channel.Do not exceed 10VDC maximum input voltage. |
