Connect the USB cableprovided to the player’s USBjack and connect the otherend to your computer’s USBport.2. “PCLINK” shows on theplayer’s display. The playerappears as a removable drivein your computer.Installing Digital VoiceManager1. Connect the player with thecomputer as instructed in theprevious section.2. Double click or open the“MyComputer” desktop icon,then double click the playerdrive icon.3. Double click “SETUP” folder,then double click “Setup” orSetup.exe to run the installer.4. Follow the on-screeninstructions to install thesoftware.5. After installation iscompleted, reboot yourcomputer.• The Digital Voice Managersoftware can also bedownloaded fromwww.rcaaudiovideo.com• When the playeris in Menu mode,during playback orrecording, a connectionbetween the player andthe computer will not beestablished. Quit the abovemodes before connecting tothe computer.• Data transfer is possibleeven if no batteries areinstalled in the player.• Do not disconnect the USBconnection during filestransfer.Connecting to computer Using Digital Voice ManagerThe RCA Digital Voice Managercan perform playback, organizeyour bookmarks of the recordedfi les and create self-executablevoice fi le from the recorded files.Launching the software1. To launch the software,click “Start”, select “AllPrograms”, select “DigitalVoice Recorder”, then select“RP5120” and then select“Digital Voice Manager”.2. All the drives in the computerexcept the removable DigitalVoice Recorder are shown inthe top while the removableDigital Voice Recorder isshown in the bottom.Playback and editingoperations1. To organize your files, clickthe corresponding buttons tocut, delete, copy and paste afile (or by drag and drop).2. To play the recorded files,highlight the file and click thePLAY/PAUSE button on theleft of the toolbar.3. Adjust the volume on theright of the toolbar.• Click the correspondingbuttons in the toolbar to fastbackward/forward, skip to aspecifi c time in the file andAll drives inthe computerRemovableDigital VoiceRecorderstop playback of a recordedfile.• To adjust the playback speed,click “Normal Speed” andselect desired speed from thepull down menu.4. You can drag thevoice fi les you want to transferto your player to the A/B/C/Dfolder in the drive.Your files can be found in thesefolders in the player once it is dis-connected from the computer.You can also drag the voice filesyou want to transfer from theA/B/C/D folder in the drive to yourcomputer.Do not rename, deleteand transfer (drag-and-drop) voice files to yourplayer directly in WindowsExplorer. Use the Digital VoiceManager to rename, deleteand transfer voice files.Using your player as a filestorage deviceThe player can function as adetachable data storage device.You can take along your favoritepictures and documents whereveryou go. Simply cut-and-paste ordrag-and-drop files to or from itvia USB connection, the player willappear as a removable drive inWindowsAll drives inthe computerRemovableDigital VoiceRecorderDisconnecting from computerAfter you have copied files toor from the player, you candisconnect the player from thecomputer.1. Select theplayer to be stopped againfor confirmation and click OK.3.
