After you turn your gameon, or at anytime while you are playing your game, ifyour lighting conditions become dim, your screenwill automatically illuminate! If you set the gamedown, the game goes to sleep, and the light willalso automatically turn off.Reset – Insert a blunt point into the RESETBUTTON to reset the game settings.BASIC GAME RULESIn Tetris®, you must arrange a sequence of smallshapes, called Tetraminos, into complete lines. Aseach line is completed, it will disappear from thescreen.Tetraminos fall from the top of the play field to thebottom.Each Tetramino is made up of four blocks, arrangedinto seven different patterns.You must rotate the Tetraminos as they fall and fitthem together to create lines.If you cannot complete a line, the blocks willeventually rise to the top of the play field and thegame will end.GAME LEVELSAs you advance to each level, the speed at whichthe Tetraminos drop will increase. Tetris® willautomatically advance to the next game level eachtime the player clears ten lines.SCORINGDuring game play, the total Line Count will appearin the Score/Line Count indicator at the top righthand corner of the screen. When you complete aline or multiple lines, the Score/Line Count indicatorwill show your total score, for two seconds. It willthen return to your total Line Count.Points are awarded for clearing each completed line ofTetraminos as follows, multiplied by the current level.Single: 10 points: One line is cleared.Double: 30 points: Two lines are cleared at thesame time.Triple: 50 points: Three lines are cleared at the sametime.Tetris®: 80 points: Four lines are cleared at thesame time.NOTE: Game starts at level “00”. The point multiplystarts at level “01”, where points will be multiplied by 2.In the event that you score more points than can bedisplayed, a “Roll Over” will occur and the scoredisplay will restart at zero. A Roll Over is indicatedby dashes in front of the score.HIGH SCORESThe highest score of the game will be displayed inthe Score and Line Count indicator at the end of thegame.GAME MODESTetris® has three game modes: Classic Tetris(Game One), Speed Tetris (Game Two), and UltraTetris (Game Three).CLASSIC TETRISIn Classic Tetris, you will compete for points/linesand continue to play until you “Top Out.”Note: "Topping Out" or "Game Over" occurs whenthe Tetraminos have stacked to the top of thescreen or playing field.SPEED TETRISIn Speed Tetris, your objective is to score as manypoints/lines as possible within a specific timeperiod.At start-up, you will select a 2, 3 or 5-minute gameby pressing either Rotation Button. The time limityou have selected will appear on the screen.You will play until you reach the time goal or untilyou “Top Out.”ULTRA TETRISIn Ultra Tetris, you will attempt to clear a certainnumber of lines within the shortest period of time.At start-up, you will select a 25 or 40 line goal bypressing either Rotation Button. The number of linesyou have selected will appear on the screen.You will keep playing until you “Top Out” or whenyou clear the number of lines you have selected.If you exceed the time goal with the placement ofthe last Tetramino, you will be awarded all of thepoints scored, including points for lines completedover the goal.GETTING STARTEDPress the Start button to begin a new game. Youwill see the Game Mode screen.To scroll through the game modes, press the Upand Down Directional Keys. There are three gamemodes: Game One (Classic Tetris), Game Two(Speed Tetris), and Game Three (Ultra Tetris).To select a game level from which to start, press theRight and Left Directional Keys. There are ninegame levels, each increasing in difficulty.
