First St.San Jose, CA 95134-1708 USAWARNINGSRead Before OperatingThe ToxiRAE Pro PID User’s Guide must becarefully read by all individuals who have or willhave the responsibility of using, maintaining, orservicing this product. The product will perform asdesigned only if it is used, maintained, and servicedin accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.CAUTION!Never operate the monitor when the cover isremoved. Remove monitor top cap, rear cover, andbattery only in an area known to be non-hazardous.User InterfaceThe ToxiRAE Pro PID’s user interface consists ofthe display, four LED lights, an alarm buzzer, andtwo keys, [MODE] and [Y/+]. The LCD displaysreal-time reading in specified measurement units, sensortype, alarm type (when in alarm, including cal. or bumpoverdue), Man Down status, battery status, datalog (if on),and radio and connection quality (if available).Charging The ToxiRAE Pro PIDAlways fully charge the battery before use. Contacts onthe bottom of the ToxiRAE Pro PID meet the cradle’scontact pins, transferring power. While charging, theLED on the cradle glows red. When the battery is fullycharged, the LED glows green.Turning The ToxiRAE Pro PID OnPress and hold [MODE] for 3 seconds. Duringstartup, the battery, buzzer, vibration alarm, andLEDs are tested, and then the ToxiRAE Pro PIDperforms self-testing of its functions. When themain measurement screen appears, the ToxiRAEPro PID is ready for calibration or use.Note: If the battery is almost fully discharged, themessage “Battery too low! Needs charging.Powering off!” shows in the display and theToxiRAE Pro PID shuts off. You must charge thebattery before you can use the instrument.Turning The ToxiRAE Pro PID OffPress and hold [MODE]. A 5-second countdown toshutoff begins. You must continue pressing on thekey for the entire shutoff process.
