The SPCW8 speaker is designedto be used at either 25 or 70.7 volts, with field se-lectable tap settings from ⅛ to 8 Watts. These prod-ucts are designed for high efficiency sound outputwith low total harmonic distortion to offer high fi-delity sound output.Its clear audibility is designed to meet life safetyneeds from fire to emergency communication mes-sages. With its wide frequency range it can alsobe used for general signaling such as paging andbackground music. The SPCW8 speaker is listedto ANSI/UL 1480, CAN/ULC S541 and CSA C22.2No. 205 requirements for public mode and generalsignaling applications as well as ANSI/UL 2043 ple-num rated. Speaker is suitable for indoor and dampinstallations.FIRE ALARM SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONSAll wiring must be installed in compliance with theNational Electrical Code (NEC , Canadian Electri-cal Code) and applicable local codes. System Sensorrecommends installing fire alarm speakers in com-pliance with NFPA 72, ANSI/UL 1480 , CAN/ULCS524 and NEC 760.WIRING AND MOUNTINGAll wiring must be installed in compliance with theNational Electric Code and the local codes as well asthe authority having jurisdiction. Wiring must notbe of such length or wire size which would causethe notification appliance to operate outside of itspublished specifications. Improper connections canprevent the system from alerting occupants in theevent of an emergency.Wire sizes up to 12 AWG (3.31 mm²) may be con-nected to the wiring terminals.
