Keep the manual safe andalways pass it on with the device.This symbol in the following text indicates hazardswhich can cause personal injury or damage toequipment.Supplied items SilverCrest STL 1.5 A1 multi-function speaker Mini-USB to USB cableSafety instructionsIntended useThe SilverCrest STL 1.5 A1 multi-function speaker isused in accordance with its intended purpose when it isused exclusively for playback of audio files stored onmicroSD cards or if it is connected to an audio sourcewith the 3.5mm audio cable. Any other use is not asintended.The manufacturer does not assume any liability if: The multi-function speaker is not used as intended. The multi-function speaker is damaged, incompleteor modified prior to connection and use.This is an electronic entertainment device. It may onlybe used for private purposes, but not for industrial orcommercial purposes.General safety information Keep electric devices away from children or personswith mental or physical limitations! Never let suchpersons use electric devices without supervision.They cannot always recognise possible hazards. Small parts can be fatal if swallowed. Also note thatthere is a risk of suffocation if air passages areblocked by the plastic packaging. If smoke is produced, or there are any unusualsounds or smells, turn the multi-function speaker offimmediately. In these cases the device should not beused until it has been inspected by authorisedservice personnel.Operational safety Never use any adapter plugs or extension cableswhich are damaged or which do not comply with validsafety standards. To disconnect a cable always hold the multi-functionspeaker and pull the plug, not the cable. Ensure thatthe cable is not kinked and does not cause anobstruction. If the multi-function speaker is exposed to extremetemperature fluctuations, condensation can lead tothe accumulation of moisture which can cause ashort circuit. In this case wait until the multi-functionspeaker has reached ambient temperature beforeuse.Operating environment/Environmentalconditions Protect the multi-function speaker against moisture,vibration, dust, heat and direct sunlight. It couldotherwise become damaged.Controls and indicatorsItem Function, operation1 Lower the volume / Previous track; hold the buttondown to lower the volume. Press the button briefly toselect the previous track.2 Audio connection; you can connect an external audiosource with the 3.5mm jack plug. In this moderemove any inserted microSD card before switchingthe device on. Audio output is switched on and offwith button 3 and the volume is controlled withbuttons 1 and 4.3 On/off button / Playback / Pause; hold the buttondown to switch the device on and off. Press thebutton briefly when the device is switched on topause or resume playback.4 Increase the volume / Next track; hold the buttondown to increase the volume. Press the buttonbriefly to select the next track.5 Headphone connection; insert the 3.5mm jack plugof headphones into this socket. The loudspeaker (8)is automatically muted and the audio output is onlyheard on the connected headphones.6 USB connection; insert the smaller plug of thesupplied USB cable (mini-USB to USB cable) intothis socket when the multi-function speaker isswitched off and insert the large plug into a USBsocket on your PC or notebook (switch the PC ornotebook on first). The multi-function speaker is thencharging. The power indicator (10) flashes greenduring charging. If you would like to access thecontent of a card in the microSD slot (9), the devicemust be switched on before it is connected via USB.The operating system automatically recognises thedevice and a free drive letter is assigned. The powerindicator (10) then flashes orange and you canaccess the content of the microSD card. In thisoperating mode (USB audio mode) the device ischarging and the audio files on your PC or notebookare output on the multi-function speaker.Furthermore you can control the Windows ® MediaPlayer with the buttons of the multi-function speaker.7 Sound box; you can increase the size of the soundbox. To this purpose turn the upper section of themulti-function speaker anti-clockwise until the lockingmechanism is released and the sound box isenlarged. To reduce the size of the sound box, pushthe multi-function speaker together and turn theupper section clockwise until it locks in place.8 Loudspeaker9 MicroSD slot; you can play music from a microSDcard. To this purpose push a microSD card into theslot (pointing towards the loudspeaker with thecontacts facing upwards) until it engages. To removethe card, press the microSD card lightly. The card isejected slightly and can be pulled out.10 Power indicator (LED);Lights up orange: Device switched on for playback of external audiosourcesFlashes orange: Playback from the microSD card Operation in USB audio modeFlashes green: ChargingLights up green: Battery fully charged11 Eyelet; provided for attachment of a strap (notsupplied). |
