Pipe lines shouldbe thoroughly flushed to remove foreign material before installingthe unit. A strainer should be installed as shown, ahead of backflowpreventer to prevent disc from unnecessary fouling. Install valveinline with arrow on valve body pointing in the direction of flow.For indoor installations, it is important that the valve be easily acces-sible to facilitate testing and servicing. Do not install in a concealedlocation.CAUTION!Do not install with strainer when backflow preventer is used onseldom-used water lines which are called upon during emergen-cies, such as fire sprinkler lines, etc.It is important that Series 007 and LF007 be tested periodically incompliance with local codes, but at least once a year or more oftendepending upon system conditions. Regular inspection, testing andcleaning assures maximum life and proper product function.NOTICEFire Protection System InstallationsThe National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Guidelines require aconfirming flow test to be conducted whenever a “main line” valvesuch as the shutoff valves or a backflow assembly have been oper-ated. Certified testers of backflow assemblies must conduct thistest. The trim valves of the detector meter bypass line, on assem-blies so equipped, should be shutoff during the confirming flow test.When the test is completed, the trim valves must be returned to afully open position.Meter Box InstallationLocal building or plumbing codes may require modificationsto the information provided. You are required toconsult the local building and plumbing codes prior toinstallation. If the information provided here is not consis-tent with local building or plumbing codes, the local codesshould be followed. This product must be installed by alicensed contractor in accordance with local codes andordinances.WARNING!Need for Periodic Inspection/Maintenance: This productmust be tested periodically in compliance with local codes, butat least once per year or more as service conditions warrant.All products must be retested once maintenance has beenperformed. Corrosive water conditions and/or unauthorizedadjustments or repair could render the product ineffective for theservice intended.
