YealinkSIP-T21P E2Before you start using phonePackage content: Telephone set, Receiver,Twisted receiver cord, Telephone stand,Instructions for installation and use. Insert thetelephone stand into four holes on theunderside of the telephone set (so that thetelephone can stand on the desk). If you wantto mount the telephone on the wall, you haveto disjoint the stand, turn the upper section180 degrees and join the stand again together.Attach one end of the receiver cord to thereceiver and the other end to the socket on thetelephone marked with receiver. Attach theLAN cable (black cable) to the socket on theunderside of the telephone marked "Internet"and attach the other end of this cable tointernet modem, router or switch. If you haveonly one LAN socket available, it should beused for connecting the telephone and the PCshould then be connected to the telephone (tothe socket on the underside of the telephoneset marked "PC"). If your network does notsupport PoE (Power on Ethernet), it isnecessary to use a telephone feed adaptor (anoptional accessory). The telephone willthen start up and the message“Initializing…please wait…" will appear on thedisplay. This may take several minutes duringwhich the telephone updates itself and it mayalso restart itself. Then it should be possible tosign up to the network. Right in the telephonea list of telephone contacts has been madeready for you to use. After logging on theportal-uc.gtsce.com portal you have toenter your assigned telephone number andthe password. You will receive these details onthe delivery of the service. The Name is yourtelephone number. Here you may be able toadjust the Virtual Switchboard serviceaccording to your needs. Help can beaccessed using the "Help" button in the rightupper corner. Other instructions are alsoaccessible here in the item "To Download".1. Making a callLift the receiver or press the "Loudspeaker"button and enter the required telephonenumber using the numeric keypad and confirmby pressing the context button "Send". To endthe call, press again the "Loudspeaker" buttonor put down the receiver.2. Control functionsNavigation button is used for moving in themenu. Button OK is used to confirm the diallingoption. There are also the following types ofbuttons on the telephone – the context- -dependent buttons and the line keys. Thefunctions of line keys are set: User line,Monitored line. The functions of the context--dependent buttons are changed automaticallydepending on the operating condition of thetelephone. Menu can be browsed usingnavigation buttons or directdials as every direct dial is numbered. Themanual will also describe the so-calledsequence, meaning initiation of aconfiguration menu using the context “Menu”button and pressing direct options 1-9confirmed by the OK button. I.e.: the Menu-2-4-1 sequence means pressing the MENU, 2, 4, 1,buttons. You can return to default status usingthe Back-Back-Exit context button.Context button Hold – puts a call on hold (withmusic)Context button Transfer -transfers a callContext button MENU -enters menuButton RD – Opens the list of last diallednumbers.Button Message – Connects your phone withyour Voice Portal.Button Headset – switches headphone/microphone sound to the headset.3. Telephone directoryWithin a Virtual PBX service are used twoplatform telephone directories: Personaldirectory and Business directory. Businessdirectory always contains all active users ofthe company. Personal directory is intendedfor private contacts of the user. You can add,edit or delete items of personal list using theportal-uc.gtsce.com portal.4. Searching in telephone directoryTo open this list, press "Directory” – “Personaldirectory", “External directory” or “Businessdirectory” button. The appropriate telephonedirectory will be loaded into the phone. Tonavigate in the list, use the up and downarrows and call by pressing OK; for the fastsearch (name or surname), press numerickeys with the relevant characters. For eachletter press the button only once.
