Agreat deal of care has been taken by our team inthe design, components and handmadeproduction and testing of this amplifier. We aresure that you will hear the difference!WHAT IS THE STERO 60 MK 3?A very powerful integrated amplifier (85 + 85 wattsboth channels driven) with very low distortion. Ourlatest design with our new LDT transformers hasthe best specification we have ever created. It isthe equal of many far more expensive amplifiersThe Stereo 60 MKIII is a push-pull Ultralinearstereo power amp, capable of running in eitherpentode ultralinear, or pure triode mode, using theexcellent KT120 or KT88 valves in fixed biasmode. The driver and phase splitting is all triode. The ST60 MKIII may also be used as a poweramplifier. The pre-amp is a high quality ‘Passive’circuit using silver audio cable and an ALPSvolume control. It is sensitive enough to be usedwith all modern source equipment having anoutput of around 300mv or greater. Its simplicitycoupled with point to point hand wiring without theuse of printed circuit board’s results in an openeuphoric sound that is wonderfully detailed andwarm sounding. The mark 3 is a third generation amplifierspecifically designed to get the best out of theexcellent KT88/6550 valves, in this model wehave also optimised the circuit and outputtransformers to work with the new Tung SolKT120 valve. When a power valve is workingsome of the energy is lost as heat, and all valveshave a maximum dissipation, in the case of theKT88 this is 40 watts. The new KT120 candissipate 60 watts, a considerable increase whichwe take advantage of to generate more power, and also means the KT120s are working wellwithin their maximum thus giving greater reliabilityand a longer life. If you decide to use KT88/6550these will work as well as they did in the mark 2version at slightly lower power. In order to get the best out of your amplifier, please read the SET UP GUIDE first.
