3Com Router Safety, Regulatory, and Compliance Information43Com Router 5000 FamilyThe 3Com Router 5009 & 5012 are designed with a modular structure which can support not onlyintegrated Fast Ethernet (FE) interfaces, AUX and Console ports, but also abundant optionalSmart Interface Cards (SICs) and Multifunction Interface Modules (MIMs). The Router 5009 &5012 deliver high cost-performance ratio while compared with similar products. Therefore, it canserve as not only an access router in a large-sized branch but also a core router in a small-and-medium-sized Intranet. The Router 5012 is a rack-mounted 5009 with 32 Mbytes of flashmemory.The 3Com Router 5231, 5640 & 5680 has 8 MB flash memory. 5231 has 3 MIM slots, 5640 has 4MIM slots and 5680 has 8 MIM slots. The 3Com Router 5232, 5642 & 5682 has 32 MB flashmemory. They share the same slot configurations as 5231, 5640 & 5680.
