About the TABM Application 3-9password. The icon is included in the program group so that you willrecognize it when it appears on the screen during an TABM session.n TABM Help Launches Windows help for the TABM application. You canalso launch Windows help from the TABM application from the Helpmenu or by pressing the F1 key.About the TABMApplicationThe TABM application is an easy-to-use, graphical environment forconfiguring and monitoring AccessBuilder servers that are reachable fromyour network.Autodiscovery In addition to TABMTOOL listening for new AccessBuilder BootP requests, anautodiscovery facility is included. This facility issues a proprietary UDPrequest to discover (previously configured) AccessBuilders on the samenetwork segment as the TABM workstation. This request occursautomatically when TABM is launched, or when the Autodiscover icon isclicked while TABM is running.A previously configured AccessBuilder residing on the opposite side of arouter on the same network segment as the TABM management stationcannot be discovered by TABM because the router cannot bridge TABM’sspecial UDP requests. In this case the IP address of the target AccessBuildermust be manually entered into TABM.IP NetworksNew servers that are connected to the network send configurationrequests (BootP requests) to the TABMTOOL application.Upon receiving such a request, the application automatically displays adialog box so you can enter the required information. After you enter therequired information, the application (TABM) adds the new server to the AllServers List, which is described in the next section.IPX NetworksIn IPX networks, the AccessBuilder Manager can auto discover theAccessBuilders on the LAN without knowing the IPX address of themanagement workstation on which it is running. All servers, including thoseon different subnets that respond are added to the All Servers List, which isdescribed in the next section.
