Flow Control 83Flow Control The flow control mode allows a Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet port to:n Decrease the frequency with which it sends packets to a receivingdevice, if packets are being sent too rapidly.n Send flow control packets to a sending device, to request that thedevice slow its speed of transmission.ImportantConsiderationsTable 8 lists the effects of flow control options.n You can use this command to configure the same setting on multipleports simultaneously.
