14 OI/266/LowP-EN Rev.A | 2600T Series Pressure transmitters6 Transmitter wiring+ ---+++6 Transmitter wiring6.1 Cable connectionDepending on the design supplied, the electrical connection isestablished via a cable entry or 1/2-14 NPT thread. The screwterminals are suitable for wire cross sections of up to 2.5 mm2(AWG 14).Important. With Category 3 transmitters for use in “Zone 2”, aqualified cable gland for this type of protection must be installed bythe customer (see the section “Hazardous Area Consideration”). AnM20 x 1.5 threads is located in the electronics housing for thispurpose. For transmitters with “Flameproof enclosure” (Ex d) typeof protection, the housing cover must be secured using the lockingscrew. The screw plug that may have been supplied with thetransmitter must be sealed at the plant using Molykote DX.The installer assumes responsibility for any other type of sealingmedium used. At this point, we wish to draw your attention to thefact that increased force will be required to unscrew the housingcover after an interval of several weeks. This is not caused by the threads, but instead is due solely to thetype of gasket.6.2 Analogue output (HART) transmitter wiring1 - Power source2 - Hand-heldcommunicator3 - Externalground terminationpoint4 - Internalground terminationpoint5 - Line load6 - 1 to 5 V DCout (Voltmeter)125 436HART hand-held communicator may be connected or betweenthe terminals Vout/COMM and PWR- or at the terminal blocksof the voltmeter.Figure 10: HART transmitter connection schemeWarning - General risks. Observe the applicable regulationsgoverning electrical installation. Connections must only beestablished in a dead-voltage state. Since the transmitter has noswitch-off elements, overvoltage protection devices, lightningprotection, and voltage separation capacity must be provided at theplant (overvoltage/lightning protection is optional). Check that theexisting operating voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated onthe name plate. The same lines are used for both the power supplyand output signal. In case the surge protection option is presentand the transmitter is installed in a Hazardous area, the transmitterhas to be power supplied from a voltage source isolated frommains (galvanic separation). Furthermore the potential equalizationfor the entire powering cable must be guaranteed since the intrinsicsafety circuit of the transmitter is grounded.Electrical shock can result in death or serious injury. Avoid contactwith the leads and terminals. High voltage that may be present onleads can cause electrical shock.Do NOT make electrical connections unless the electrical codedesignation stamped on the transmitter data plate agrees with theclassification of the area in which the transmitter is to be installed.Failure to comply with this warning can result in fire or explosion.
