Section 5 Ethernet configuration tool5.1 Introduction GUID-27895183-D8EC-48B1-8B42-6C3B469AE67B v2The Ethernet configuration tool (ECT) is a configuration tool that provides thepossibility to configure Access points, Merging units and Routes in a single place. The tool increases security and easy of use as it offers an overview of allconfigurations related to Ethernet communication, such as operation, IP addresses, redundant communications and which protocols allowed to run on the individualaccess points.ECT validates the values entered for the IP-adress and the default gateway in theAccess point-tab as well as the settings in the Merging unit-tab. For moreinformation refer to the Application manual.5.1.1 User interface GUID-7931FEA9-DDFE-46D8-8651-701C3612CBDB v4Access pointsThe Ethernet configuration tool consists of one tab for access point, one formerging unit and one for routing. The changes done during the session will bebolded until the tool is closed. The protocols cannot be activated or deactivated from ECT, the toolonly controls which protocols are allowed to run on the accesspoint. For information on how to activate or deactivate thecommunication protocols, see the communication protocol manualsor cyber security deployment guideline. To configure the access points and merging units in offline mode, first hardwareconfiguration should be selected in Hardware Configuration Tool (HWT). In onlinemode all available access points and merging units will appear in ECT.IEC16000089-1-en.vsdxIEC16000089 V1 EN-USFigure 29: Access point tab1MRK 511 398-UEN C Section 5Ethernet configuration tool670 series 2.2 IEC 59Engineering manual
