Apparatus control APCThe apparatus control functions are used for controland supervision of circuit breakers, disconnectorsand grounding switches within a bay. Permission tooperate is given after evaluation of conditions fromother functions such as interlocking, synchronismcheck, operator place selection and external orinternal blockings.Apparatus control features:• Select-Execute principle to give high reliability• Selection function to prevent simultaneousoperation• Selection and supervision of operator place• Command supervision• Block/deblock of operation• Block/deblock of updating of position indications• Substitution of position indications• Overriding of interlocking functions• Overriding of synchrocheck• Operation counter• Suppression of Mid positionTwo types of command models can be used:• Direct with normal security• SBO (Select-Before-Operate) with enhancedsecurityIn normal security, the command is processed andthe resulting position is not supervised. Howeverwith enhanced security, the command is processedand the resulting position is supervised.Normal security means that only the command isevaluated and the resulting position is notsupervised. Enhanced security means that thecommand is evaluated with an additionalsupervision of the status value of the control object.The command security with enhanced security isalways terminated by a CommandTerminationservice primitive.Control operation can be performed from the localHMI under authority control if so defined.8. Scheme communicationScheme communication logic for distance orovercurrent protection ZCPSCH (85)To achieve instantaneous fault clearance for all linefaults, a scheme communication logic is provided.All types of communication schemes for example,permissive underreaching, permissive overreaching,blocking, unblocking, intertrip are available.The built-in communication module (LDCM) can beused for scheme communication signaling whenincluded.Current reversal and weak-end infeed logic fordistance protection ZCRWPSCH (85)The current reversal function is used to preventunwanted operations due to current reversal whenusing permissive overreach protection schemes inapplication with parallel lines when the overreachfrom the two ends overlap on the parallel line.The weak-end infeed logic is used in cases wherethe apparent power behind the protection can betoo low to activate the distance protection function.When activated, received carrier signal togetherwith local under voltage criteria and no reverse zoneoperation gives an instantaneous trip. The receivedsignal is also echoed back to accelerate thesending end.Three phase or phase segregated scheme logic isavailable.Local acceleration logic ZCLCPLALTo achieve fast clearing of faults on the whole line,when no communication channel is available, localacceleration logic (ZCLCPLAL) can be used.
