ABB 44Uniswitch Operation andMaintenance Manual UNI S14GB 05-02Repair measures If any irregular conditions are detected, then appropriate repairmeasures must be taken (see 5.5).5.4 ServicingInstructions If, during the course of an inspection in accordance with section 5.3, theneed for servicing measures has been established, then take thefollowing measures as required:1: Tighten all electrical connections (main busbars, switches,measuring devices, cables, etc.) to the correct torque as detailed inthe installation instructions.2: Clean all parts (switches, circuit-breakers, tripping mechanisms andmotors etc.) with the vacuum cleaner and visually check them.Clean the surfaces in general:• Weakly adhering dry dust deposits: clean with a soft dry cloth.• Wipe down after cleaning, using clean water, and dry properly.3: Perform one close/open operation on all switches and circuit-breakers including the earthing switches.4: Connect the auxiliary control voltage but ensure that no remotesignals can activate the components. Perform one electricaloperation sequence on all motor operated devices and trippingmechanisms.5: Clean the busbar compartment and cable compartment. Removethe switchgear cubicle roof and clean the SFG switch-disconnectorinsulation materials and busbars with a soft dry clean cloth. Removeall ingrained dirt such as sticky or greasy stains with a cloth and alittle alkaline cleaning agent. Wipe with a damp cloth using cleanwater and carefully dry the surface. Do the cleaning in the sameway also in the cable compartment (bottom of SFG switch-disconnector, instrument transformers, busbars and circuit-breaker).Should partial discharges occur as a result of condensation, applicationof a thin silicone film on the surface concerned is often effective as atemporary remedy. It is advisable to ask the ABB after-sales servicedepartment for advice regarding permanent solutions to this unusualtype of problem.
