EMISSIVITYEmissivity (EMS) adjustment:When first scrolling through MODE the will flash andthe Up / Down buttons can be used to change theEmissivity value. Press the measurement trigger toconfirm selected emissivity, or continue through theMODE menu cycle for other options.Alternatively, adjust the Emissivity during measure-ment: while holding the measurement trigger, using theUp / Down buttons. The Emissivity is adjustablefrom 0.10 to 1.0.The selected emissivity value will remain after turningoff and until another value is selected.Note on Emissivity:Emissivity is a term used to describe the energy-emit-ting characteristics of materials. Most (90% of typicalapplications) organic materials and painted or oxidizedsurfaces have an emissivity of 0.95 (pre-set in the unit).Inaccurate readings will result from measuring shinyor polished metal surfaces. To compensate, cover thesurface to be measured with masking tape or flat blackpaint. Allow time for the tape to reach the same tem-perature as the material underneath it. Measure thetemperature of the tape or painted surface.7MODEMINMAX LOG AVG=RTMODEMINMAX LOG AVG=FoRTMODEMINMAX LOG AVG=RTMODEMINMAX LOG AVG=RTMODESCANMINMAX LOG AVG=CoFoH LRTMODESCANMINMAX LOG AVG=CoFoH LRT
